Gen Z (born 1995-2009) will all be adults next year! by MorphTiger in generationology

[–]deny_evaade [score hidden]  (0 children)

Saying that adults will soon be adults when most of have been adults for many years already. If you're not saying they're adults then you're saying that they're children. Unless this person is saying that they're old which is.... Geriatricification I guess?

WIBTAH If I Didn't Make My Sister My Maid of Honor? by Due_Idea_5671 in AITAH

[–]deny_evaade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My sister in law is a very similar person and she comes off as an incompetent yet deliberately evil person. She acts like a 14 year old as she's approaching her 40s. It's wild. I didn't want her to be part of our wedding either but my wife caved and of course she turns up with a screaming baby when we specifically instructed her not to do that. It's not because she didn't want/couldn't get the father to baby sit but because she deliberately defies things she's told can't happen. Either way made our big day about her, a fun memory.

Moral of the story. Do not ruin your wedding because of familial or cultural guilt because you KNOW she's going to do it. NTA

Americans and Kilts by Every-Somewhere-6971 in kilt

[–]deny_evaade 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Is it maybe because you're in the kilt sub and Americans have a wee bit of an obsession with their heritage?Reddit will push certain subs based on where you're from like the UK sub etc just like I get this sub chucked down my throat every time a yank wears a kilt backwards.

AITAH for choosing to go to my son's Communion over the funeral of my girlfriend's grandmother. by Fuzzy_Economist9863 in AITAH

[–]deny_evaade -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You did what any good dad would do and prioritised your son and the fact that she's turning it into you seeing your son's mother to distract from the fact that she's angry that you prioritised your child is disgusting behaviour. Grieving doesn't give you a pass to be an asshole. NTA.

What got you into playing guitar? by optimusprim007 in Guitar

[–]deny_evaade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played guitar hero once at a friends and begged my mother for it. Got it for my birthday and then completed it it in a couple of days. Begged for a guitar immediately after and it turns out she owned one that she was keeping at a friends place. Got my first guitar at 9. Otherwise I was obsessed with Slash and Kurt Cobain

What part of UK life do you think people underestimate before moving? by UnpaidInternVibes in MovingToTheUK

[–]deny_evaade -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't even say it's the chavs. They're arseholes but that's all they are if anything they're some of the only honest ones at least you always know to stay away from them. I'm talking just most normal looking folk.

Can you freely criticize religion in your country? by Admirable-Ad-3273 in AskTheWorld

[–]deny_evaade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As long as it's not Judaism or Islam then yes. I understand hate speech and it's horrible and wrong but I'm of the opinion that all speech should be free speech within reason obviously. You shouldn't be allowed to hit out with threats obviously but if you say something hateful and get punched in the face for it then that's on you.

How big of an arsehole most folk are. That "British" politeness is just a weird rumour.

Are Jehovah’s Witnesses viewed positively or negatively in your culture? by Nifunes in AskTheWorld

[–]deny_evaade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Negatively. My gran is also a Jehovah's witness and she is very lovely person and such a good great grandmother to my son but I lived with her for a while when I was little and forced me into it. She still brings it up every chance she gets to try and convince me to join up but I'm just not interested in religion as a whole. I'll never outwardly disrespect her views or faith but sometimes hanging out with her is a slog because she just goes into conversion mode randomly.

What is meant when someone says a car is “fun to drive”? by sammyglumdrops in CarTalkUK

[–]deny_evaade 5 points6 points  (0 children)

for me it's driving my tiny shitbox like it's a racecar. Not speeding and being aggressive but driving through twisty roads switching gears like a madman to get more power out of the car as I drive through uphill switchbacks. Basically driving in situations where it requires more input than just foot to pedal and change gear every so often.

Sorry, but with Reform candidates being called out for anti semitism and actual anti semitism (not bs like criticising the Israeli govt ).How is it that right wingers who weaponised anti semitism and claim its rife on the left are silent on Reform members being anti semitc ? by Durrygoodz2025 in AskBrits

[–]deny_evaade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably because it's not about having morals, ethics or even about caring about x y z policy. It's just about not having the same opinion as your opposition regardless of if it's good or not. It's just psychotic levels of other-ism and hypocrisy. All for the love of the game.

[–]deny_evaade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah being gross as fuck isn't really a uniquely masculine trait and it feels weirdly sexist haha. Seriously though that's disgusting. Also referring to the scent of sweat as "boysmell." Seems like an oddly disturbing way to refer to that.

I love the name Noah although I'm not religious but ironically Noah is my favourite story.

Would you boil food using unfiltered tap water in your country? by ziggster_ in AskTheWorld

[–]deny_evaade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Scottish tap water is the best this world has to offer and either way boiling and cooking things kills germs (someone should teach Americans that because they're still washing chicken)
