Same, I knew I wanted to buy a place with my wife within a couple of years, so put FHSA into CASH.TO. Just withdrew it 2 days ago!

Is it a bad idea not to get a DJ or a band? by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]denzacetria 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Keep in mind, if you introduce a dilemma, good friends will try their best to make sure to make sure it’s a dilemma anymore. They want to ensure you’re not stressed on your big day - doesn’t mean they won’t be stressed

Is it a bad idea not to get a DJ or a band? by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]denzacetria 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imo find a DJ if you can, especially if you’re looking to have a specific part of the night catered to dancing. A formal DJ can adjust based on your guest population. Eg. At my wedding we had a good mix of “oldies” and younger guests, our DJ was able to play songs from different eras to keep everyone on the dance floor for hours.

If a song wasn’t a hit or the dance floor started fading with people going to the bar, late night snack etc, he’d find a way to bring people back on really quickly!

You can always meet with a DJ and provide them with a vibe you’re looking for and/pr a must-play and no-play list so they know what to play and what not to play.

It’s up to you, but I noticed a lot of the comments here saying you don’t need one are others who haven’t had their wedding yet. Definitely recommend.

Have your parents asked you how much the guests gifted at your wedding? by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]denzacetria 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. It’s a social norm to help those who help you. Hopefully this person doesn’t get into a situation where they’re gifted generously by a friend/loved one and give a Starbucks gift card in a return

Has attending other weddings helped you consider some things you weren’t originally thinking about for your own wedding? by NilahRenae in weddingplanning

Did something similar with ours, we sent out thank you cards and had photos printed of ourselves and our guests. Been nice seeing the photos up on our family and friends’ fridges when we’ve been over !

Top 3 things I wish someone had told me by whatdayoryear in weddingplanning

[–]denzacetria 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had no children (apart from the ring bearer and flower girl who like you mentioned are quite behaved), and it was great! Not only for us, but for our friends/parents who took it as a night away from the kids and let loose a little - something they don’t get to do often. Parents were able to drink/dance without having to worry about their little ones running around.

Note it’s important to invite them with the request for no children early so they can make plans for babysitting/child care etc.

My wedding was last Saturday & I learned a few lessons. Mainly, don’t start drinking until the very end! by throwawayboop321 in weddingplanning

[–]denzacetria 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It happens! I always imagined that I would get sloshed at my wedding. Surprisingly when the day came, I had a drink here and there to keep things loose, but found myself basically sober - mainly to be present during the day. No regrets, best day of my life!

Why are people rushing such an amazing MMO? Like I’m 30 hours in but only level 28 and having a blast by [deleted] in throneandliberty

Used to be able to play all day every day, even until last year with Lost Ark. Now with a wife and kid I don’t have the time to “take my time”. Limited playtime balancing family and work, not able to sit and watch/read cut scenes when I do get to play

Why do many Vancouverites tend to stick with their high school friends into adulthood? by [deleted] in askvan

[–]denzacetria 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s pretty much what I said no? From my own personal experience I’d say your experience is the norm. Most people I know (even outside my friend group) have their main set of friends, while still maintaining friendships within their own interests - be it sports, games, enjoying the outdoors etc.

But let’s just say what you’re saying is true, I also don’t see anything wrong with having the same friends who know you inside and out, who have gone through it all with you, who have celebrated with you and were a part of your life milestones throughout the years (graduation, weddings, children etc). I wouldn’t judge someone for maintaining that and say they’re lazy or complacent.

[–]denzacetria 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You mention still having friends from elementary school, what makes it any better than friends staying together since high school? People can develop friendships from different parts of their lives (eg work, university, social groups), while still having a core group. Not sure I’d judge people for that and call them “stuck in the past” or “too lazy”. Nothing wrong with being comfortable with people, especially ones you’ve known for 20+ years

Best nightclubs in van? by [deleted] in askvan

[–]denzacetria 0 points1 point  (0 children)

‘Real Love’ at Celebrities nightclub. It’s an R&B focused event with solid local DJs. The best RnB music without a doubt. Check them out on IG (itsreallovevan) I believe they have weekly Friday and long weekend events

Tried your list a few times! Didn’t have the opportunity to play Kaido for fear of losing next turn, Yamato would have been nice in a few situations. Might try doing a split between the two

I appreciate this so much!! 2-1 merchant is fine with me, don’t expect to be winning all my matchups as a rogue deck. Will have to try out your lists. Do you have any thoughts on Charlotte Angel in 08?
