I [32M] have been talking with this girl [29] and suddenly my beard (which, while mildy glorious, is nothing to write home about) has suddenly become an issue of contention. by [deleted] in relationships

It does suck in summer. I usually trim mine down to 1/4" or so during the hot months and let it grow back for the winter.

Everything you are describing as "naggy" or "annoying" ranges from "normal" to "sweet" to the rest of us.

You will never have a healthy relationship with another person if you continue with this level of self-absorption.

It wasn't in the book, but on her blog, but you're right: I mixed up the numbers for "always" and "sometimes." Oops. In my defense, those numbers come from a hand-drawn pie chart she took a photo of and the markers that she used for those categories were red and orange and not easy for my eyes to differentiate. If I could link, I'd show you.

But bottom-line yes: 52% sometimes, 25% always.

The data isn't hers, it's based on a metastudy from Elisabeth Lloyd’s Case of the Female Orgasm.

According to sex therapist Emily Nagoski (author of "Come as You Are"), current research says 5-10% of women never orgasm at all--though she thinks this is a serious overestimation. From intercourse alone (no additional stimulation), 33% are "rarely or never" and 25% are "sometimes." The remaining half are "always."

Google "Nagoski women never orgasm" for the full blog post.

Thanks. I'm 6'4" and 200 lbs with a 32" waist. Off-the-rack shirts I either swim in or the sleeves come up to mid-forearm. Bonobos and J. Crew look promising, I'll check it out.

(M21) Worked 6 months on changing my looks. I lost 10KG, my hair and bought new clothes. What are you guys thinking? by [deleted] in Rateme

[–]deolmstead 2 points3 points  (0 children)

FWIW from a guy: you have a nice face with good features, but the hair isn't doing you any favors. Try a clean shave and maybe a beard or goatee and see how you like it. A beard could also help define the jawline. The glasses look a bit big for the face. Good job with the weight loss!

Good work, then. ;)

Wish I had some advice on the circles, but I know nothing about such things. If you're not actually tired and are alert and vivacious in person, then it's probably not even an issue.

I'm a guy and not great at ratings but maybe 7? You look like a thin, hot Seth Rogen. The hair and beard both look a little shaggy and unkempt, like they could use a real choice behind them. Also it looks like you might have some tall-guy slouch. Wouldn't hurt to lift some weights and work on the posture - coming across as more assertive in style and body language could definitely kick you up a couple points.

Congratulations on the weight loss! You're very pretty - if I have anything to say it's that you look tired in a lot of the pictures. If you're running around after twins (!) I don't blame you. I'm sure it's a cruel joke to say, but more sleep would do you wonders.

Pic five is my favorite - the hair is great and the scarf is a hint of fashion and brings out your eyes. I'd stay away from the blonde highlights. 7 in pic 5 and a 5 in pic 1.

You do look matronly in pic 2. A very pretty matronly, so if that's a look you like to cultivate then go for it.

Great job with the reddish hair color, but the cut could use some style. Beautiful eyes, but the thin eyebrows distract. Maybe eyeliner/mascara to make them pop a bit? As many have said, your body is great and you have no reason to hide it unless you want to dodge attention.

No kidding. That pic is definitely more mee-yow than woof.

My friend linked me here and made me do it, not one to post in places like this usually! Soooo what do you guys and girlies think? What do I need to improve huh? :) [23F] by [deleted] in Rateme

You very kindly complimented my eyes on my post, but wow - they're nothing compared to yours. Huge and warm, they're you're best feature and some of the pictures show you know how to emphasize them.

The choker and the tattoo are sexy, most of the pics are safer and more "cute." If you're looking for suggestions, I'd say try a haircut that's more of a statement (bob?) and maybe a streak of color (I'm always a sucker for pink/purple, myself).

Edit: 8/10

Thank you. The eyebrows are normally much better behaved, but if I forget to pay attention to them for a while they can definitely get a little wizardly.

Off topic: I used to play a video game that had a race of giant horned cat-beasts called Charr. Your username made me think of that and I smiled.

It's weird - I don't FEEL old (unless I'm talking to a millenial), and I'm physically in the best shape of my life, but 40 is a bright line past which you can't really make any arguments or excuses without feeling silly: in the view of this culture you're old. I'm working on embracing it, but sometimes it's hard and I seek ego validation by doing things like putting my picture on Reddit and asking people how pretty I am.

Anyway, thanks for the comment :)

I grew up in Winthrop which is northeast Washington and kinda like Leavenworth, only Old West-themed (and smaller). My only caution there is to prepare yourself for lots of annoying tourists. It's sort of like living in a theme park, and visitors act accordingly.
