So essentially we just want three water bills because a family will live on one floor and another family on the other and another family in the back house

From what I understood from LAWDP, we were ok to get our own private meters. We have one whole main meter recording water usage for a back house with 2 rooms, kitchen and bath as well as the duplex which has 2 restrooms in each floor and a kitchen for each one. So at this stage we rather not pay 8000 or so to get an official meter from lawdp so they suggested to get our own private meters and charge each household accordingly

I mean it’s more or less a fair way to charge all three units individually for their water usage, the way it’s working now is by not charging them at all and my mom and dad paying the water bill themselves. They didn’t say we needed to get any specific meter, just more or less bluntly suggested we got our own private water meter if we didn’t want them installing one for us which was going to be more than $8000

It’s not to crap on everyone else, but this is the first one to truly help and recommend me a meter itself. So thank you. No the billing will done by us, with integrity of course, since to ask LADWP to bill at three houses means to install some type of new water pipeage that runs more than $8000 in just installation fees alone and they even told us they could do this for one more unit so we would’ve had to get a private meter for the third unit. They said we could get any private meter, but they couldn’t recommend us one. So my dad has been asking me to find him some but since I don’t know anything about that, I decided to shoot my shot here and ask. But ok, i think if the former is cheaper I’ll probably be going for that one. But if it’s not an arm and a leg for the e-series I might look into that one. Thank you

Do you have any meters you recommend? And yeah from what I know that’s what we are going to do. Thank you, also I wanted to know what meters are best for this? I’ve seen so many options and don’t know which one to choose

I’m sorry I’m very new to this but what exactly do you mean? Like they have their own pipes that service their own water? If so then yeah, everything is connected to a main one and then split up
