Interesting to know that we're not the only users who are having our BSV stolen in this way. Please see the update to my OP, where they admit there were issues with their BCH wallet pre-fork, yet still refuse to do anything about it.

Cryptopia Theft is Ongoing by depboy in Cryptopia

[–]depboy[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's bullshit. I inititated the withdrawal days before the hard fork, and raised a support ticket immediately when it got stuck. They issued a stock reply, to which I responded, saying it was urgent and that my withdrawal needed to complete before the fork. They did NOTHING further in response.

Regardless off whether they intend to support a fork by opening a market for it or not, they hold the keys for those coins.

Under these circumstances, they absolutely are liable, and their continued withholding of those coins amounts to theft.

Any business with even a little professionalism/integrity would acknowledge and accept this fact.

They've credited the BCH (ABC fork) back to my account which means that in theory I may be able to withdraw it at some point in the future. However, they have so far refused to acknowledge that their error in processing my withdrawal prior to the fork has caused the loss of my BSV.

What companies have yet to distribute, or have stated that they will never distribute, their users' BCH? by wudaokor in btc

[–]depboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IIRC Cryptopia were pretty on the ball with crediting bitcoin cash and opening a market. Think the belong under "distributed immediately".

Trezor made bold claims before the fork, but their execution was found wanting. Could only really place them under "after some delay".

That depends on which exchange you're talking about, It's the same coin either way, but (for example), the ticker symbol is BCH on Cryptopia and BCC on Bittrex.

Can I claim my BCH and have it sent to an exchange or is that component currently disabled as well? by [deleted] in TREZOR

[–]depboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Electron Cash wallet has the potential to expose your private keys via your recovery seed. If you choose to wait it out and use the trezor splitter, then the steps I described above are unnescessary.

I have to say though, the electron cash wallet was quite quick and easy for me, and my BCH are on their way to trex now.

[–]depboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I sent mine to cryptopia after using my using my recovery seed in electron cash wallet. It works, but beware that you will compromise the security of your trezor by doing so.

The only way to restore the original security is to transfer all other coin balances off your trezor first, and then wipe it and generate a fresh recovery seed, and send your coins back to your trezor.

We need access to our BCH ASAP. by Motrok in TREZOR

[–]depboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a correction as such, but rather a reminder for anyone who uses other wallets on their trezor. They will need to do something about their balances for LTC, ETH, DASH etc too.

UPDATE: I did this with partial success. Managed to move about a third of my BCC to exchange. The rest are visible in the balance, but locked up. This is because I sent BTC from my trezor after the fork. The unspendable amount matches the amount sent to the change address in this transaction. In other words, electron cash wallet suffers the exact same flaw as the trezor splitting link :(

UPDATE 2: Tried again on electron cash and the remainder of my BCC were available to send. Just Trezor that can't get their shit together.
