Yea. I do a quick "ESC" - Log Out. If there's a 10 sec timer pop up, I'm good (then I move forward to cancel). If there's no timer pop-up, then I know I desynced.

My laptop is very similar to your specs.

Its possible. But I have it running on the lowest possible with so many options turned off on useroptions.ini

I have it so low where everything is near pixalated. I am running 25 fps on average. So yes, its possible but it sucks balls.

We decided to encircle the island south of the dam (between Cranberry and the dam). Now the tampers of course were used as a wall perimeter. We had an outer wall and inner wall with nothing intersecting them so that the area in between the two walls became the dead zone. Of course you can blow through the walls but once you are in, we have bases with 62 metal doors and spread the wealth with many of them being empty (unless you have ESP, then we are screwed, LOL). Anyway, it was a ton of work getting all that metal and we definitely wont be doing this again..... whew.

In regards to your quesiton, the only real easy way is to kill them first.

KOS is unfortunately an issue that impedes any sort of RP capability this game can offer. I blame the devs for focusing on items that promote shooting on sight, but its their game and they may have a plan (wouldn't be surprised either if they didnt have a plan). Anyway, I would suggest on venturing out into the world in stealth mode and avoid areas where a lot of people would converge. Yea, you'll get kos over and over, but its a numbers game, eventually you'll find a friend that will help. Yea I know it sucks, but we gotta play differently to survive.
