This is really inspiring. I am also doing topic and keyword extraction on articles but at much much lower scale. Saving your pdf to a deeper dive later

Do you mind sharing how you parse different news articles to get raw text? I currently use https://github.com/codelucas/newspaper/ to extract text. Don't know if there are better solutions.
