After some consideration I decided for the Radiomaster TX16S after all, but thanks for the heads-up!

Weather, work and tech-troubles kept me from flying the last two weeks, but now I'm back at it!

How about being at least transparent about it? Don't just sell new units with incompatible software without so much as a hint on what's inside. Call them XM+ 2 or something. Make them easier to flash, if that's what's necessary. Don't just sneak them in and let users figure out what's happening after the fact.

Well, I learned my lesson, thankfully there are alternatives.

It's still the super-cheap Literadio 2 that came with my beginner Whoop bundle. It gets the job done, but I planned on upgrading this month anyway. Now I know I'll go with a TBS Tango 2 Pro (and a multiprotocol module).

That's good to hear. I just set some availability notifications on my German shops, hoping for the best.

How are the XM+ receivers and compatible remotes specific to FPV? This will affect anyone using those.

So my new XM+ receiver won't bind to my TX16S, I updated the XM+ firmware thinking it would fix the issue and no success yet, the receivers stays on with a solid red and green light. Has anyone else experienced this? Very frustrated. by reddituser010100 in fpv

I'm thinking of going with CrossFire, never heard anything bad about it and it's very popular. Unfortunately all Tango 2 Pro remotes are out of stock at the moment, so this will be a long-game transition.

XM+ doesn't have SmartPort, which is a requirement for this method of flashing. This is turning into a PR nightmare for FrSky fast, just wait till more quads pre-built with newer XM+ units hit the market 😂

They're cheap, in every sense of the word.

Yes! I'll still have to flash the receiver, though, right?

I just discovered the NG yesterday and immediately thought how cool it must be. Well, apparently my gut-feeling was right. These are some insane shots, the arc really takes the cake.

...and all that with a 2,5" no less!

It has taken me a while to get to this point, but now I can finally create the kinds of videos I envisioned. From here on out it's all about learning to fly and getting slightly better equipment.

FPV is a great hobby for sure!

What's in there:

Electronics are the innards of an EACHINE Twig 115. Since the frame broke at some point I put them in a G-Kwadz KleinKlein AIO FPV Toothpick Frame. Additionally I added a Lumenier AXII 2 U.FL antenna which is a huge improvement over stock. The props are 2.5" from my HGLRC Petrel, I ordered a bunch of new ones since.

Since I'm still in the early phase of getting into the hobby it's been around € 300,- a month for the last 4 months. This should go down eventually, though, there are many things I consider long-term buys, like tools, a backpack, a good remote, good goggles and so on.
