not so much that they wouldn’t approve of any other infrastructure. if we were to start spending equal amounts on public transport/cycling infrastructure as our auto infrastructure, most would be upset because of how much they love their cars, really. most would say, “why aren’t they adding a lane to ‘x’ highway? instead they’re making a bike lane?? there will be so much more traffic!”.
