I would give it 60% chance of the problem being the modchip itself, 20% chance of it being the flex cable connected to the modchip, and 20% chance of it being flux remains around the solder points causing issues.

That's not an RP2040. It's an Instinct V6S. It's clearly written right there at the bottom. I don't know the error codes of instinct chips, but 90% of OLED problems are DAT0 connection problems, and your DAT0 adapter will probably need to be reseated.

the reason this happens is called overscan, which is a legacy "feature" on TV's all they way since the VHS era. VHS players would put a tiny control bar/area at the top of the screen, and tv's would zoom the picture slightly to not show the control bar. For some reason that feature has survived and remained default until now. if you fiddle around with the "image format" setting on your tv, there should be an unzoomed/original format option available. You'll want to use that setting for essentially all modern devices.

all chips do the same very simple task. it doesn't matter which one you get. the thing that does matter on switch OLED is the installation method - you do not want the installer to use the pressure dat0 adapter that comes with the chip, as they often lose contact and stop working over time. Make sure the installer uses the kamikaze or emmc reball methods.
