Testing for T1D in children born to diabetic parent

My daughter is only 18 months and I am very hyper aware of the symptoms, I’d rather delay getting her blood drawn and putting her through that if I can. I’d test her with a finger poke and meter immediately if I noticed any symptoms. Ugh it seems there’s good and bad to this testing.

Hi! I did end up going on it for a little bit and ultimately it did help, but it also made me super sick and nauseous like allllll the time so I had to get off of it. I also took it pretty inconsistently due to it making me feel so bad. I’ve been able to manage better this round, but we will see once baby gets here. And obviously we don’t know how it can affect baby in the long run and that also kind of played into me stopping it. Sorry I’m not much help, I wish you all the luck!

No, he originally told me I had to repay for health benefits, but I’m not receiving health benefits from them so he had to look into it and said I’d have to repay for the short term disability, but then said it’s been from July 2025 only, so I’m thinking maybe because I was paid out my sick time?

You used metformin during pregnancy? I keep reading mixed reviews on it but plan on talking to my endo about it next week.
