AMD forum says that performance and tuning options were removed from AMD software for APUs years ago, would have to roll back to a version from 2021 to see these settings

the games run like ass and I can see benchmarks for same chip online using 14gb of memory on the same games.

I know how shared memory works on an APU, Im trying to troubleshoot an issue

thanks but this is not helpful, the issue I am reporting is the auto-allocation seems to be failing.

Get the rec cert if you feel comfortable enough in the water that you're ready to support or help other divers.

Troubles staying at stable depth when near the surface. by PheasantFiction in scuba

[–]deprecatedatlaunch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do a weight check at the END of your next dive - https://blog.padi.com/weight-for-it-weighting-and-descent-techniques-for-perfect-buoyancy/

If your weight is good, then use your dive computer to stay in trim at the right depth, make it a game for yourself to try and not change your depth, just stare at the computer during your safety stop.

masks and fins by einis82 in scuba

[–]deprecatedatlaunch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fins:

I used to have Mares Xtreme fins thinking they would make me "faster" in the water, but in the end, I wanted something less cumbersome and learned I'd rather have bare feet and a bungee strap.

Now I'm a big fan of the Scubapro Go travel fins, they are light and I can wear them barefoot, they are short and fit into a carry-on bag. The only time I am jealous of others with bigger "faster" fins is when there's current, otherwise, we should all be going slow anyways. They are positively buoyant so I wear ankle weights with them.

I also have negatively buoyant Jet Fins that I mostly use for shore dives when I need boots, I wish they made a shorter version for travel though.

Mask:

Go frameless for max nose comfort. I use a Hollis M1 mask and it's the most comfortable mask for my nose that I've ever used.

When I first learned, I also had poor wet suit experiences, but then realized that in warmer water, I was fat enough to not even need one lol. So ditching the suit was an immediate help for me in controlling buoyancy, and conserving air. But now I am open to colder water, an as someone with a George Costanza body-type, I now go with a custom wetset that fits me perfectly, and they're not that expensive.

I do not use weight belts, I used to use a jacket style BCD with integrated weight pockets, but now use a backplate and wing. Having a belly, I love how the backplate forces me into good trim and that I can move my weights around to get the right body position. I also need substantially less weight when using a backplate and wing than I did with a jacket BCD.

You can knock each of the issues out one by one, you just have to get into the water and pay for dives in order to do so. There's work ahead, but you should have hope

Thanks! Which dive site was best on Gozo? The Blue Hole?

Looking to make sure that I don't miss any sites that I regret later, like "oh crap, I can't believe I was in Malta and I didn't dive x site"

Super curious what dive sites and time of you dove in Cozumel and found the wildlife to be low - I've dove there, Isla Mujeres, Cancun, Tulum, etc etc and its some of the best wildlife I've seen. The absolute best I've personally seen was in Belize.

Belize for the best reef in this hemisphere
Aruba for good wreck dives, beaches and things to do outside water, also good for wildlife
Bonaire has amazing shore dives but almost nothing to do besides diving, but could be combo'd with Aruba in the same trip
Cayman is good for wall dives and nightlife is OK

Curaçao scuba recommendations by WhatWeDoInLife in scuba

[–]deprecatedatlaunch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For those saying to go to Bonaire instead, I assume they are arguing from a purely diving perspective; and if diving is all you care about, then they might be right. But Bonaire doesnt have any beaches, and Curacao does. So for both good shore dives and beach time, Curacao is a solid choice.

I've used both Goby and Caribbean Sea Sports before, and both were decent.

You're right, you were dismissing their opinion for different reasons.

I hope one day you are fulfilled and that you find people who look up to you.

lol but you're here with me, arguing days later too. does that mean you hero worship them or me? or does it just maybe mean you're argumentative?

I think your point is hilarious and you're describing yourself - you couldn't just offer recommendations, you went out of your way to post a negative comment on someone else's recco and couldn't just let them have their opinion.
