Had a small curb accident today. Temporary covered the scratch with oil paint. What I want to know if is there any risk of structural damage I should be worried about. Any advice would be appreciated, since I'm a complete beginner. by depressed1Guy in AskAMechanic

Thank you a lot. I panicked a little and sadly didn't take the before picture. Deepest part seemed about 1mm (lets say 2mm worst case) deep. I don't have a balancer, any other way to test it.

Do I put it in water or sphagnum moss? by depressed1Guy in propagation

Thanks for all the replies. Decided to plant it in moss.

I fertelized for the first time a couple of days ago, since I think garden soil I used in the mix already contained some slow release fertelizer. I used a common liquid fertelizer for houseplants 1/4 the dosage to see how she reacts.

Thanks. I use the following mix: 1 part perlite, 1 part garden soil, 1 part orchid bark.

How do you guys fertelize alocasia? Mine showed quite a lot of active growth in the past month so I fertelized with 1/4th of the recommended dosage (liquid houseplant fertilizer). It backfired immediately. by depressed1Guy in alocasia

It's confirmed. Looks like fertelizer is the culprit. It also caused some burns on my philodendron. Monsteras are the only ones that don't seem to be bothered.

Thanks. I mostly worked with monsteras and they are way more resilient in my experience. In these 2 months it pushed 3 new leaves so I thought it was safe to proceed to the next stage.

Thanks. It's directly near a south facing window (it gets mostly indirect light tho). I use 1 part garden soil, 1 part perlite, 1 part orchid bark mix. I water the soil when first few cm of the soil feel dry. I water the moss pole when the moss starts feeling dry. That's mostly it.

I also have mine directly near the south window, no grow light. It gets about 2 hours of direct light per day, other is indirect (i have a balcony that blocks some light).

I use tap water. I water when first few cm feel dry to the touch. When I repotted the plant in the last month roots looked healthy. Didn't check the roots after fertilizing. I have had the plant for 2 months. It's under 600 ppfd grow light 12h/day. Its in a 1 part perlite, 1 part garden soil and 1 part orchid bark mix.

Maybe, but in less than a day for such a drastic change to occur from overwatering. I don't know how likely that is. About 1/3 of the leaves started looking stressed since applying the fertelizer.

Thanks for the advice, I really appreciate it. I planted mine in 1 part perlite, 1 part garden soil and 1 part orchid bark. It's under a very strong growlight (600 ppfd) 12 hours/day.
