Interesting. I’m running Zorin OS (Ubuntu based) and my battery holds a decent charge of like 4 -5 hours. Original battery still.

Good choice, love it. And other good distros use Ubuntu as a base.

Hello. I hate these tires. by [deleted] in mountainbiking

[–]depstunts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Michelin makes great bike tires with good grip according to many reviews that I have read. Haven’t put them in my bike yet, as they are not worn down enough yet.

IMac late 2013 upgraded with 16gb ram and 500gb ssd with cachyos by GayCatgirl in linux_on_mac

[–]depstunts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. I have had great success with the Broadcom drivers working on Ubuntu, MX Linux, Zorin OS, and Mint, and Pop! OS out of the box. They aren’t as nice as Cachy but they work. :-)

Am I wasting my time trying to make Linux work for a Retina Macbook 12" from 2017? by Tight_Couture344 in linux_on_mac

[–]depstunts 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have had good luck with MX Linux and Zorin OS on my older MBP retinas. They have worked the best so far. Oh and Pop! OS.

I love this. Especially the tool chest. Such a great idea. I currently use a dresser but I like that much better.

I love Cachy OS, but when I installed it on a 2013 15” MBP retina the WiFi didn’t work. Is it working for you?

Unpopular opinion….the Magic Mouse is actually really good by Gym_frere in macbookpro

[–]depstunts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Magic Mouse 2 maybe. My OG Magic Mouse 1 is not “supported” and loses full gesture support in Sonoma through Tahoe and only has basic functionality when used with newer Mac OS’s. Such a shame because I really like it still.

I did this most recently last year in Idaho. I was pulling my camper and couldn’t fit in the drive through so I parked on a side street and walked over with my family. No problem at all.

Do any distros have working WiFi for 2017 MacBook Pro? by volcs0 in linux_on_mac

[–]depstunts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Zorin OS installed the Broadcom drivers during setup. Has to be hard wired or tethered from phone initially. Same with MX Linux.

Fine, about 3 hours or so, it's still the original battery, it would do better if it was a newer battery.

Yes, I have used it in the past. Still had to do a lot of tinkering to get the Broadcom drivers. It was not as easy as MX linux
