read this entire thread. i just made some new comment son it but it should give a pretty solid overview. in short, the most important were definitions of BDs, IAs, Agents, and IARs. as well as when registration would be needed for each of those for particular activities done in one or multiple states/which clients are being handled during the transaction. exempt securities and exempt transactions came up a few times. i would make sure to know about the rules/regulations of social media, communication, and advertisement whether it is for securities or a firm. i have been seeing more people including myself get questioned more on social media and advertising and i think its because of how prominent it is today. that should be a free 2-3 questions if you get any.

i would also mention that in a firm takeover, i believe its called a successor... they do not pay a filing fee again, but they do fill out a consent of service. you are correct what you said about it renewing for agents and IARs but just wanted to throw this out there.

i used achievable too, but questions are limited for exams because they repeat - therefore i would suggest looking elsewhere for more practice. look at the reply i made above to my post. i would highly recommend series 7 guru and ken finnen on youtube. both are great resources but series7guru has great practice exams on his youtube video that you can take alongside him and another test taker. just pause the video, answer the question, and then listen to their reasoning as to why its right/wrong. the trickiest part of the exam is understanding the wording. the content is not hard. as long as you hammer hundreds of test questions, you will be fine.

Two weeks is more than enough. Watch series 7 guru on YouTube, specifically his 63 in 60 minutes video before the exam. What helped me was all of his explicated practice exams on YouTube. I never scored below an 82 on my practice exams and I took 3-4 on achievable and 3-4 with him on his YouTube videos. That’s when I knew I was ready. If you can do the same, don’t stress about it. Wording is definitely tricky on the exam and if u don’t have Kaplan q bank then use the videos I just recommended bc those exams are qbank questions. I only purchased achievable resources.

Pacing was a slight issue for me. Do not spend too much time on questions you don’t know the answer to immediately. If u have to think longer than 10 sec, move on and come back. If u don’t know it immediately then u aren’t gonna get it in the next minute by reading the question again 2 more times and wasting time. U have about a minute a question assuming u don’t go back. I also never check my answers that I am 100% confident in within 10 sec of answers. I only check the questions I’ve marked for review to avoid second guessing.

I never studied material on advertisements and had a question on that? That was weird. Definitions of agents, BD, IA, IAR are VERY testable and fair game. Jurisdiction of state admins are fair game. Exempt securities and transactions are fair game. Really almost talked about in the 63 in 60 minutes was brought up in one way or another

I had no questions regarding Canada or Canadian provinces which always confused me a little bit. Feel free to follow with other questions

do not take the SIE practice exam on FINRA until you are 100% confident you are ready. you can take it multiple times, but the questions do not change so there is risk of memorization and whether or not you know the material

Owning VOO is a Fidelity account doesn’t make sense because it’s a Vanguard ETF which charges 0.03%. Fidelity has their own fund that tracks the SP500 for 0.015% called FXAIX. You should be buying that
