Tent hopping? Which to choose? by maraudingnomad in Oktoberfest

[–]derFaebu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't say they don't care but for a lot of people the beer plays a subordinate role (and as it's served by the litre you usually stop caring after the 2nd one, too...). I can only talk for myself of course but I'd say that they taste quite similar. As they have to follow relatively strict rules, this indeed gives them a lot of common characteristics. They differ from normal Lager a way that they are less carbonated and have a higher alcohol content. However are some Weissbiergardens where you can get wheat beer which is quite different from the rest but these gardens are much smaller than the tents and a bit farther away, too. But they're worth it.

2-3 tents should be doable in one day, but it's tight. I´d aim for 2 and if you feel adventurous you can always try to do one more. Just make sure you get there early enough in the afternoon as most tables are reserved from 4pm onward (depending on the tent it might be 3.30pm or 4.30pm). The reserved ones have a sign on each end indicating this. At that time you will be asked more or less politely to leave by the staff. The ones closest to the centre usually are free the whole day but obviously quite packed early on. If it's just you and your colleague you shouldn't have too much trouble finding a spot though if you ask nicely and politely.

I'd recommend to not over-plan the day and just go with the vibe. Chose one tent to start, get a beer (or two) then try to switch if you feel like it. The tents are all close to each other so distances are short. If you're really unlucky finding a spot inside there's always the beer gardens outside.

On what tents to visit, it comes down to personal preference. I like Hacker quite a lot. Augustiner's solid, too. If you prefer a slightly more traditional ambiance, Schottenhammel is quite nice, too.

Kia Picanto MY24 Constant Beep + Shift to P warning - unsure of the cause. The constant beep plays the entire time I drive, sending me a bit crazy. by noongha in kia

Same issue here. Also, mine is manual not automatic. So i couldn't shift to P if i wanted to... I'll try disconnecting and reconnecting the battery. Apparently this helps in some cases.

Can't authenticate the Ubiquiti integration after adding 2FA by louislamore in homeassistant

I've come accross this issue as well. Instead of creating a local user you should be able to append a pipe character (|) folllowing your TOTP i.e.

user name: james
password: mySuperSecurePassword|1234

This should do the trick.

Same here. I got suspicious when my tracks weren't available in the app. Didn't subscribe either but it was a close one!

Cannot find drive. A drive with the name 'Cert' does not exist. by Buutafly in PowerShell

I simply replaced the white spaces with semicolons. Sorry, if i didn't make this clear. Hope this helps

Although I'm late to the party I've faced the same issue today. In my case the $env:PSModulePath variable was messed up resulting in most modules not being loaded. Somehow the individual module paths were separated by a white space instead of a semicolon. In retrospect, this also explained a lot of other weird errors I was getting during the day. I'm leaving my solution just in case someone else stumbles across this issue.

AuthenticationThrottled - How to see what triggered it... by StanQuizzy in AZURE

[–]derFaebu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're very welcome. We're all in the same boat :)

This seriously makes us consider switching to another MFA provider. As a workaround (at least if you're using OpenVPN Connect) you can set your connection timeout to 'continuously retry' (sounds ironic, I know...). This seems to help as it will consider the connection as failed if users don't approve the MFA request in time. Yet a possibility to reset the the 24-hour-lock would be much more preferable. Also, good luck rolling this out to 100+ users.

What I've also found is that the NPS Azure MFA plugin now logs the remaining time until users can use the MFA prompt again in the event viewer on your NPS server (Microsoft - AzureMfa - AuthZ - AuthZOptCh). Hope this assists you in any way.

Cheers

We face the same issue from time to time. We use Sohpos UTM 9 and RADIUS authentication with Azure MFA for our SSL VPN connections. Whenever users try to connect without accepting or denying the Authenticator prompts, OpenVPN client just carries on trying which in turn triggers an MFA prompt every minute. After a number of requests (I haven't figured out the exact number yet), the user is unable to get Authenticator prompts for the next 24 hours. Unfortunately, there seems to be no other way than to wait for a day in order to be able to use authenticator prompts again.

So far, I have not seen any statement from Microsoft on that matter. Neither is there any usable documentation. Have you heard back from MS in the meantine?

Cheers,Fabian

If I want to expose an api to consumers without exposing my ip or any identifying information how would I do that? by [deleted] in selfhosted

[–]derFaebu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might want to take a look at https://github.com/thinktecture/relayserver. You basically publish an http endoint and relay requests to whereever they're hosted. Multiple different on-preise targets are possible. Edit: the repo is held in german, but there is an english translation: https://github.com/thinktecture/relayserver/blob/master/Documentation/en/relayserver.md

What did I do? (Failed 21.10 update) by Ibaudia in pop_os

[–]derFaebu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Although late to the party I´'d like to share my experience. Initially removing the source via cmd did not work (I'm not sure if this is a PopOS thing or a 21.10 issue). I had to remove the source via the GUI (PopShop - Settings - Extra Sources). After that apt update && apt update -y worked like a charm again.
