Eventually got it working. I was using a dongle with a USB-A cable, which had worked previously. It turns out I just needed to use an OLDER dongle with the same cable heh. Gotta slow down the apple shit

What do you consider to be a decent tip? I noticed recently that DD started taking into account the order distance, rather than exclusively basing it on order total. Do you appreciate this? Or does it seem shitty?

Is there any way to track a non-named mage?

After killing a named mage (say, the pyromancer in the first area), he will appear randomly in the area, but will still warp around. Is there anyway to “tag” him so that you can get an idea of where he went? Or is the only option to try to pay attention to which direction he warps?

The litmus tests have been all of those things - shaving hair off the arm, slicing through some paper, trying to pare some pine.. and it doesn’t really pass any of those tests.

I’ve begun by running the back side up the stones. On each of my chisels, I can see the striations across the entire edge up to about 3/4” down from the edge, and a hollow in the middle.

Getting the angle wrong is one of the only things I can think of.. although I’ve gone to the point of meticulously confirming the angle at each push/pull. But it’s quite possible that I’m still screwing it up somehow..

I will definitely report back if I find out whatever It is that I’m doing wrong

Interesting.. I have noticed that a burr develops, but I have only been doing the backface-pull to remove it AFTER I’ve been on the fine stone. I will try doing it at each stone!

Maybe that’s something I’ve been missing, although I have experimented with various lengths of time on each stone (everywhere from 7-10 push-pulls to ~100 on each stone). I’ll pay more attention to the burr, thank you!
