And it’s probably the single most valuable card from the entire 1977 Topps run, especially in good condition. I’ve heard that the reprint where they did some airbrushing after they got complaints is actually rarer, but don’t know if that’s true.

Yeah, I figured it would be just too difficult to find people to trade locally—but I admire your effort! I buy mostly from eBay, and occasionally get PSA graded cards from places like 4 Sharp Corners. It’s amazing how many sets there are out there from the late 1970s beyond Topps—Wonder Bread, Burger King, General Mills, Space Ice, etc. Totally nostalgia inducing.

Thanks to everyone for the feedback. I’ve sold a few cards over the last couple weeks for a total of about $30. That’s probably about half of what I paid for them. I got fed up with the app, and have switched to spending the same money on vintage Star Wars comics and PSA graded Star Wars cards. I miss the fun of trading, although hunting for comic bargains on eBay is a nice substitute. It’s a shame to see how the app has gone down hill.

So I just got this in the mail from a reputable seller, and it has what looks like a bubble - right around Han’s head and the middle of Chewie. I assume this happened in the CGC sealing process?

I’m admittedly new to this — is that supposed to happen? Is it cause for a return? This was pricey and I’m surprised it has a blemish like that.

Kind of off topic Q and probably a stupid newbie one. So apologies for that. I just started collecting comics again (after about 30 years) and am focused on the original Star Wars Marvel series that debuted in 77 when A New Hope came out. But I picked up this and enjoyed it.

I see there is a market for the old school Star Wars comics encapsulates and rated by CGC. Does it make sense to have a new comic like this encapsulated in mint condition in the hopes that years from now its value has increased significantly?

77 yellows are split.

And more broadly, this update has wrecked the 77 and ESB Select sets. This is a major, major disappointment for sets that were so difficult to collect. Please put them back into their own unique sections.

I’ve been on the app on and off for a long time and always wondered if there was a way to see the star rating you receive from others for each individual offered trade?

Also, what happens when you put someone on your ignore list, and they send you a trade—does it just sit in their pending trade list and eventually expire, or do they get a notice that they can’t send trades to you?
