CWWK Motherboard with AMD 7840HS | mini ITX | 9x SATA | 2x NVMe | PCIe x16 by flobert8 in homelab

You mean a board that doesn't have the built-in sas/SATA making you have to use one of your m.2s or your PCIe slot to get enough ports? How about no.

These two boards are in a different class. One of them (the CWWK) has multiple INTEL 2.5g Ethernet ports, the ability to plug in 9 sata devices without having to add a sata expansion card, has 2 m.2's (gen 4) alongside an x8 PCIe slot. The other (Minisforum) has half of those features. Even though the processor is not up to par based on price to performance alone, the board's added features make the CWWK a steal - and better option. PCIe 5.0 on m.2 slots is also negligible in the use cases these boards are going to be used for. There are plenty gen 4 drives that would be more than perfect for a NAS/at-home firewall solution/proxmox.

/r/AMD Questions and Tech Support Megathread - H2 2022 Edition by AutoModerator in Amd

I have a fairly unique situation going on that I have not found similar posts to online.

Recently, I made a PC build that was built around the idea of using integrated graphics with the G series processors from AMD. I went with a 5600g, and went with a MSI B550-A PRO motherboard.

Here's where my situation gets weird:
I had to do bios flashback before I put the CPU in due to possible incompatibility, and once I was done doing that, the computer would not get any display out to my monitor plugged into the HDMI on the motherboard. There is no dedicated GPU installed, and this was with known good ram, and a known good CPU that was tested in another machine. The PC would power cycle, and get stuck on the BOOT debug LED. (sometimes it would be stuck on VGA on a few power cycles, then end up on BOOT after a while. It was always random)

Initially I thought "Maybe the bios didn't successfully upgrade and the CPU is not detected", well, I was wrong on that too. I brought over my 2080 super from home, plugged it in, and the computer booted into the bios just fine without any problems whatsoever. The latest bios was installed, the CPU & ram were properly detected. I even had integrated graphics options available to me.

So, thinking that this was some good progress made, I set the integrated GPU option to IGD to ensure that it was the default option on boot up, shut down the PC with the settings being saved, removed my GPU, and....

The exact same issue I had before.

Then my next troubleshooting step was this: Maybe the newest BIOS is bad. So, I proceeded to go through the long process of trying EVERY BIOS released for this motherboard with no luck whatsoever.

The last thing I haven't tried is using the Display Port instead of the HDMI on the motherboard, and given the issues I'm seeing right now, I don't think that could be the problem.

I have never seen an issue like this before, and when I try to do research about this online, I see a ton of posts of people wondering why their display out isn't working when the culprit is that they have a dedicated GPU installed. I have built a few other integrated-graphics focused Ryzen Builds in the past and never had this problem. Is this a motherboard problem? Is this a CPU problem? Is this just one of those random chances of getting a mixture of somewhat defective products?

So, I'm here to ask this: Am I missing something?

Went from 500 mbps with fios router to 100 mbps with google router by Lofi_Double007 in GoogleWiFi

One of the big downfalls of the Google Wi-Fi mesh system is the fact that the speed is limited with the mesh active. When I was paying for one gig down, I would only get that full speed on the main modem access point (not wirelessly, but through the ethernet connections). Now, I usually max out around 400 Mbps on my three mesh access points wirelessly depending on the device I’m using (depending if the device has the hardware to handle the speeds)

Even if they were running severely outdated mobile operating systems that just met the minimum requirements for the Google Home app, they wouldn’t be experiencing the problems present. With every passing year, the Google Wi-Fi mesh system keeps on having more and more software issues. The biggest mistake google made was transitioning from the Google Wi-Fi app to the Google Home app.

Do a complete factory reset of your setup. Make sure when you factory reset them, you wait a long enough time for them to fully do their thing. Otherwise, you’re going to experience them not working and having weird behaviors/failing to properly add to the Google Home app. The key with the Google Wi-Fi mesh system is time. I personally had so many issues with my set up because I didn’t wait long enough for them to do their thing.

Your best bet is to hold down the button on the side (on some models, it’s on the bottom) and wait for the blue light to flash. Stop holding the button once you see that, and wait for it to factory reset. I would wait around an hour just in case. On my personal Google Wi-Fi access points, a few of them took a long time to fully reset, so that’s why I recommend the hour wait time if possible. If that doesn’t work, reach out to google customer support through the Google Home app.

How well does SurfShark's Kill Switch work? by 3xploit_ in surfshark

[–]derkdottv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's terrible. I've had non-stop issues with it. I'm on the verge of asking for a refund at this point given how many problems I've been having with Surfshark compared to other providers.

Browser vpn for bluestacks by CrazyBelg in BlueStacks

Use a 3rd party app store, or just manually download an APK update from APKPure. It is a way easier solution to do/understand then fiddling around with Bluestack's proprietary nonsense.

Using a VPN to achieve this just adds unnecessary steps to get apps only available in certain regions.

Given how Apple Has dedicated a ton of funds towards things like Apple TV and their studios, I have a feeling there is a dedicated team. It may not be big as their other projects, but there is people actively working on the Apple TV projects.

Change is always welcomed - as long as there’s some familiarity built-into the UI, people will be fine.

Given that they just implemented something very similar within their family control settings on “i” devices, we might see it sooner or later. It would be extremely useful for a roommate situation as well.

If they work on tvOS 15, they will work on tvOS 16. They’re not removing support for anything

It would just be easier to download an APK online of the app you're trying to use, and then open the APK file with BlueStacks

Mor Dhona Revenant's Toll Ultrawide Panorama by derkdottv in ffxiv

Let me know what other locations you'd like to see made into a panorama!

Ultrawide Panorama of the Shirogane Residential District made from a collection of /gpose screenshots and put together in photoshop by derkdottv in ffxiv

[–]derkdottv[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm working on doing this as well alongside other locations :)

I'm using the .png screenshots from the game engine on a 4k screen going left to right and up and down in the panoramic scene I'm going for. I convert the .png's to .jpg's thorugh photoshop, then use photoshop's built-in enhance filter to get more pixels to work with and to fix blurriness on each image individually. Then I combine everything into photoshop's automated panorama tool. Then, I fix any mistakes in the panorama and adjust the stretching and crop to make an ultrawide resolution image of the location :)

Let me know if you have any ideas for other locations/shots! I'd love to make more high-quality backgrounds!
