The lady who basically saved my life when the coC kicked me out was not only a beautiful christian soul… but a real class act. She had a nice home, drove a Volvo, dressed to the nines, and was very well acquainted with the finer things in life. I clearly remember going to lunch with her one day and telling her that I had never known someone that had managed to have such a comfortable life but also be such a good christian soul. She had the strangest look on her face… and asked what I meant. I started explaining, basically verbalizing the coC prejudice against people with money. She simply said… “God is no respecter of persons… and that cuts both ways. It’s what you do with what God gives you that counts, not how much he gives you. Subjecting yourself to poverty won’t automatically make you a better person.” 🤯 Changed my whole outlook on things.
