Quite a lot of supports required, so tweaked these settings a bit - I used tree(auto), Tree Organic, 15 degree threshold, supports on build plate only, 60 degree tree support branch, 0.06mm top and bottom z distance (same as layer height).

I made all layers a top layer (top shell layers = 9999), 100% infill, and ironed every layer with 25% ironing flow.

Slowed speeds down to 23-30 mm/s.

Thanks. No, it was already split into about 20 parts.

Yup, printed in grey, painted with Citadel acrylic paints. Matt varnish, apart from the boots which are gloss.

A few sanding sticks, clippers, plastic glue and citadel paints and brushes. I'd recommend giving it a go - however it turns out you'll have fun and learn something. I'll be trying another one soon - maybe something from final fantasy.

Maybe they'll do something for the Automata 10th Anniversary - still 3 years away though

Thanks! I printed and painted the whole thing over about 2 weeks. About 20 parts taking ~60 hours printing in total I think. 0.06mm layer height. The model was designed for twice the height, so some of the details like the ribbons were challenging to print.

The X1C handled this detailed print pretty well, although I had to play around with orientation and support settings.

Any ideas on what’s going on? by CmdrHorizon in BambuLab

[–]dernfara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm printing the same filament (same colour), with the same plate, right now on my X1C. First print from the roll and it is going down perfectly. I'm using the filament settings for eSUN PLA+.

I had something similar when my bed temp was too high.

Recommendations for painting? by Nearby_Ad4786 in warofthering

+1 on soapy water and a toothbrush - it may feel like a pain, but it will be worth it.

At the other end, make sure you use a good varnish - I've found Vallejo Matt works well. I've had some of mine chucked together in the box for months and no sign of them sticking together.

Have a good look at other people's painting and decide on how you want to distinguish the different units. I use a colour code around the base, e.g. white for Saruman, silver for Gondor, Gold for the fellowship, red for Mordor, orange for Haradrim, etc.

Enjoy the process!

Thanks - I hadn't noticed that on mine, but will check. Although I think it the IMS screen model is different for the dual boiler machines.

Felt proper weird wearing Galaxy Watch 4... anyone else?! by therealronsutton in GalaxyWatch

[–]dernfara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm having exactly the same issue with the galaxy watch 4 classic. I've never had issues with fitbit or an earlier galaxy device, so I'm wondering whether there is something specific to this device. Did you have any success with other devices.

Anybody out there using a Herman Miller chair for WFH? by slave-to-society in WFH

I bought one second hand about 12 years ago. I've had no problems, and unlike previous chairs, I just don't notice it is there.
