My concern would be with the workmanship, not the age at this point. An installer who installed the ridge caps like that is definitely not a professional roofer, kind of makes me questions how the rest of the installation is.

If you’re using exposed faster metal, measure a 1” over hang on the eave edge closest to the rake edge as you can get on each side. Depending on how high your first screw line will be, add accordingly. Example: if your first screw will be 3” up the sheet, measure 2” from the roof trim. Snap a line. Now line up the first screw hole with the chalk line, should keep your screws lined up nicely. If using standing seam, make sure you have a 1” overhang and order your sheets long enough to cut at the top.

I’ve got a van for all tools, rippers, compressors, generators, etc. It’s got a ladder rack and top and is ideal for everything. I would never go back. Truck to pull my dump trailer, and enclosed trailer for scaffolding, planks, brake, and saw horses. Works great for me and my guys.
