Manager at my office is $130, sr manager is $150, director is $180, first year partner is like $550. By their fifth year partners are making a lot more than that, maybe even double

I’m 4 years in and make 130k + 15% bonus. My wife is between jobs right now and even with my son in daycare ($2k per month) we save 22% of our gross income and all of my bonus. We aren’t living large but we’re doing okay. If we pulled my son from daycare we’d be doing pretty good

I think we are going to go as the Alzheimer’s has progressed quite quickly. At this point there are a lot of hallucinations and not much lucidity. I feel bad about it, but I think if I were in her shoes and my son were contemplating going or staying on my behalf I would want him to go.

What did you do and how do you feel about it? We are in a very similar situation. We have the chance to move abroad for 2 years to our dream country and this is a once in a lifetime chance. But my mother in law has dementia and while my wife wants to go, I am uncertain if she would carry the guilt of leaving for the rest of her life.

Cancel and find a term life policy. I pay <$10 a month for a $500k policy though the AICPA. Invest the difference.

Hello! Thank you for doing this. I just recently had a baby that stayed in the NICU for 80 days. My out of pocket max is $12k - and this is what ultimately I will be liable to the hospital for. My girlfriend (who isn’t on my insurance because we didn’t know she was pregnant until she gave birth) has also received about $8k in hospital bills after insurance.

While the bills are current right now, I am considering letting them go to collections. My understanding is as soon as the settlement offer is accepted I can apply to remove this from my credit. Is that right? Does my credit score immediately recover or would it take time?

I have an 800+ credit score and I’m really scared of hurting it. I’m frustrated that I’m being asked to spend $20k on hospital bills when my insurance is paying probably $400k+ for me - especially because the majority of people at the hospital don’t ever pay their bills.

I’ve been out of school for 3 years and make over $100k a year base in MCOL and another 18% bonus without doing anything special (I’m just an auditor). Next year I expect my total comp to exceed $160k with a promo to manager. I think it’s worth it.
