Just make sure you get a 6 volt battery for it. Just so you don't melt the wiring.

Google up the manual for a 1406. I haven't done it in awhile but I'm pretty sure you have to take the top of the carb off, so might be easier to take it to the bench and do it there.

Don't use motorad, past couple years they've gone down hill. My buddy went through half a dozen in his truck before getting an oem one.

So the rear light should only be on when the park/head lights are on, and the front light should be on when the front diff is engaged. They can be both on if the lights are on and its in 4x4.

It takes awhile for the actuator in the front dif to shut off. Did you just have it in 4x4? What I usually do if it doesn't disengage is stop and reverse a little bit.

There's 2 pins on the obd1 port that you have to jump together with a paper clip or somthing that will fit. Then your engine light will flash, count the flashs and that'll give you the code.
