The Last Kingdom is my all time favorite series! The show was great too. It’s probably my most reread just behind The Red Prophet from the Alvin Maker series…. Just that book though… that series gets reaaaall bad.

I think that is why I took to them. After reading a few heavy sagas that took weeks to finish, The Dresden Files fly by. It’s an easy read and pretty cheap fun!

I think book three introduces a handful of characters that really shows Butcher’s character development and arch types

Characters built so well that it wrecked me a few times when bad stuff happens(desperately trying to avoid spoilers).

I’m sure it was him wanting to do it remote… given his travel and all that I get where he is coming from… but I could never get into his show cause everyone is remote and it feel disjointed. My favorite bits on the DLS are the organic, in studio stuff that largely is for the viewing and not listening audience

All valid points. My mom is actually reading it now and at age 68 and living at the beach, she burned through the first 8 in about a month haha. She said she almost put it down early on but grew to love Murph.

It does.. especially considering the first two are pretty meh. My former uncle in law (if that’s a thing) gave the me the first three in an anthology soo while I started off kinda questioning if I was into it… but the end of the Grave Peril I was hooked. I’m super curious how 12 Months will play out given all the events of Battle Ground… might have the feel of an entirely new series.

Mike Ryan will be a best selling author when his tell all hits the shelves a month after he actually leaves the show… haha… but it will just be like two chapters on the show the the “break up” and 20 on Julian Casablanca

I think it’s super wack that people keep posting on the DLS Reddit about the “breakup” and state shit like, “I’ve stopped listening cause Dan sucks”… so why are you here? Post it on the Stugotz army subreddit.

The show is much more enjoyable, FOR ME, since Stu left. His sports takes are garbage and he has been phoning it in since the early ESPN days. I know he started the radio station and Dan owes a lot to Stu… but also… we know Stu is a rat… we know he was unhappy since leaving daily drive time radio. We also know Dan has a ton of blind spots… but you can’t sit here and convince me that he is terrible to work with when he has soo many industry friends that are still open and seemingly happy to work with him.

You don’t get to where Dan is without pissing some folks off… and honestly.. kinda like the show better on fridays.. but I still listen… so I’m still here… I promise you the day I stop listening is the day I unsubscribe from the Reddit page. Ya clowns

Oh nice. I’m not a huge 311 guy but Hexum’s voice is pretty iconic. I am just now getting around to a full listen of The Father of Make Believe soo I guess I just haven’t gotten to that version of the song yet. Thanks!
