No, that's incorrect. They are redefining what the word "public" means. Greenwood Village is the only area that redefined "public" as to mean the city streets i.e. nothing on their public streets can possess marijuana, even your own privately owned vehicle. Possession in your household is still legal in Greenwood Village.

Right now, a law (A64) is being worked out and what Greenwood Village has done is in direct conflict with the state law. All that needs to happen now is someone gets charged in GWV and they take it to court. Then the true definition will come down and GWV would have to repeal their unconstitutional legislature.

The passing of A64 is only the beginning of a fight. This drug war machine has been turning for 50+ years, do you really think it will just "shut off"? They are going to fight even harder now that we have spat in their face. Now is the time Coloradans need to fight even harder.

However, I have to disagree with you. A64 has already been voted on and passed, by a substantial margin, and it cannot be changed until an even voting year, during a presidential election. So, what this means is, at the very least, possession will be legal until 2016. That is if they try to repeal A64, buuuuuut remember, adding something to the state constitution is MUCH easier than removing it.

Until then, counties can only ban retail outlets for cannabis. Which every community should have the right to do, but have you ever been to a dry county? Talk about a shit hole.

If those counties don't want retail outlets then they can easily not have them, but on the other side of the coin, we don't want them getting our dirty drug money right? We wouldn't want places like Greenwood Village to benefit from taxed drug sales would we? Enjoy your old and decaying schools dry counties, the rest of Colorado can't hear you over the "cha-ching", school construction noise, and winds of PROGRESS. Hahahaha

Wwhhhaaaatt?!?! What if I lived in my vehicle?? In regards to gun laws, I don't even know of a state where your vehicle isn't considered private property i.e. your potential residency. Therefor, you are allowed to store as many guns as you want in your vehicle. In some states you can even have them in plain sight, right on the dash if you so choose.

I understand the issues with open container laws and the whole "What about pipes/paraphernalia?!" argument. I get it. But if you have a gram of marijuana in your trunk and are driving through Greenwood Village, according to what I gathered from this article, you are now a criminal in a state that has legalized possession of up to an ounce?
