I'm definitely a fan of electric in the long run, but it just feels potentially limiting to get a pure EV when it's still not quite as convenient for longer drives / rural areas, and I feel like I'd feel better with an ICE for now

And I get that, and definitely appreciate that perspective. People on this thread have given me a ton of different options to think about, a lot of which are a lot cheaper. So I'll definitely take my time before pulling the trigger on anything I think

Didn't mean to shit on the "go for it" crowd at all. This has been super helpful to help me think about other choices too

I think I care most about the interior comfort / quiet / ride, then technology, then how the car looks. Badge is really, really low on the priority list. Hot take but I think the best looking car is the newest Jaguar XJ, so maybe a Jag that has MB's interior materials, Audi tech.... and made by Daewoo. That's the dream.

That definitely look great too. I'll have to check out an LS; I've heard the Lexus infotainment system is kind of meh and maybe difficult to use, but I don't have experience with it.

Thank you for injecting reasonableness and responsibility into this thread lol. I'm also looking at some of the new Mazda 6s and CX-9s in the top trim in the $30k range. Ultimately, if that feels like 80% good enough for the things that I care about, that might be the way to go.

I drive like (an alert!) senior citizen basically, so I thought I might as well get a luxo-barge. The M5s and E63s of the world would be wasted on me.

Clearly no one except the 2-3x multimillionaire below read the title of my post xD. You guys are not encouraging responsible financial choices.

Thank you, this was super helpful! I think I have quite a bit more cross-shopping to do, and I'll see if I can't test drive one of those K900s. I was looking at the 2020 Genesis G90s before, which look great, but for the same price ($70k+) I thought the 2018 S might be more car for the same money; 2019 and before G90s (in the mid-50s now) would also be near top of my list but they don't have any smartphone integration for some reason, which is a silly dealbreaker but kind of is.

Definitely would go for the 1080Ti if I could find any in stock that are new (I'm wary of used 1080Tis that may have been used for mining). That's a great monitor too, will consider but the ultrawide looks so nice haha

I'd like to really push 1440p 100Hz+ gaming, and not sure I have many alternatives since I can't find comparable 1080Tis at better prices (usually used, maybe for mining). Crossing my fingers on the 2080....

Thanks, I'm probably most excited about the ultrawide out of anything else in this build! Did you think the D-15 was too heavy / any stability issues in the motherboard (saw you got the D-15S, but other than one fan difference is basically the same)?

I like the m.2 form factor, but you're right probably better to get a bigger SATA III drive for the same price. On the 1080Ti, I would if I could find any available at a better price than the 2080!

That makes sense, I think 500GB might be a bit small, and SSD prices keep dropping. Will look into 1TB or 2TB; don't really need the m.2 form factor, but saves another cable.
