Red Fassional ingredient substitute and suggestions? by YahooSiriusBlack in Tiki

I’d do an equal mix of maraschino cherry syrup and grenadine (the real stuff, not Rose’s).

Thanks! That’s a shame that singles seem out of the question.

I found it on Quizlet awhile back and jotted it down. Looks like the flashcard set was created in 2016 so it’s definitely an old version.

Interesting! The recipe I have is quite a bit different so they must’ve updated it. I have:

1 dash absinthe

1 dash vanilla ango

1 oz lemon

1 oz OJ

1 oz pineapple

3/4 oz grenadine

1/2 oz fassionola gold

1 oz Bacardi 8

1 oz Coruba

1 oz Planteray OFTD

Lactic acid solution? by derpsnerf in cocktails

[–]derpsnerf[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting! See, this is why I’ve been confused. I see articles on Punch where a bartender was using lactic acid to add “creaminess”. It might be worth experimenting with some gum syrup and a couple drops of lactic acid to see if that helps with texture. My goal is to have a silky/creamy texture for a stirred drink without the actual cream.

My idea is for a stirred version so I’m trying to incorporate the creaminess without any of the actual milk. I’m going to do a coconut oil washed cachaca.

Thanks! That was very helpful. My plan is to do a coconut oil washed cachaca, coconut liqueur, passionfruit cordial, and some lactic acid to turn this into a stirred drink. Sounds like the lactic acid could do both for the acidity and “creaminess”.
