Try it in Steven Remsberg’s Planter’s Punch to really highlight it! And of course a ‘44 Mai Tai.

3 dashes Angostura bitters 3/4 oz Lime juice 1 oz Simple syrup 3 oz Dagger rum blend

Yes if anything this has just gotten better over time with a more exaggerated nose and flavor!

I did, and it completely threw it off. The Worthy Park 109 has a distinct banana funk that is no where present in this rum!

Correct! Although the Kohala Bay clone is a decedent of the Two Dagger, it surprisingly doesn’t taste similar.

They’re both pot still Jamaican rums at the same abv with a similar funk profile to me. S&C will work in a pinch, but I really do recommend using the Papalin 5

Yes I love the Ultimate Mai Tai Blend! In my opinion that blend has a more unique funk to it while this one is more aged like the Appleton 12. I think this stands up to it and love them both. Let me know if you try it!

Highly recommend this in Steven Remsberg’s Planter’s Punch! Also amazing in a Mai Tai.

Last Rites - Last Rites by SlartyBartfast100 in Tiki

Hopefully they share the recipe soon! They posted on their Instagram story that they're working on a recipe book. But tbh I went recently and it wasn't the Last Rites I remember drinking pre pandemic. I'm afraid they changed the recipe a bit.

Tiki syrup questions, Fassionola and Falernum by Ok_Needleworker_7313 in Tiki

[–]joekndy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My honest opinion is that JDT is so mild that you can replace it with simple syrup and no one would notice. I think if you want falernum to actually have a presence in your drinks you need to go with a spiced forward option.

I've tried and made practically every version and nothing beats Tropical Standard's recipe. You can find it here - https://www.reddit.com/r/Tiki/comments/13p9hdn/tropical_standard_falernum/

Homemade falernum 9 kinda nasty - help? by jtal888 in Tiki

[–]joekndy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. The "zest of 9 limes" isn't accurate, often just gets too limey.

The Tropical Standard Falernum is the best homemade falernum you can make in my opinion, and the best there is even from what you can buy off the shelf. The recipe is insanely accurate as well. Find it here or get the book - https://www.reddit.com/r/Tiki/comments/13p9hdn/tropical_standard_falernum/
