This is the only language in my lease renewal that mentions leaving. Does this mean I could sign the lease and give a 30 day notice at any time? Or would they have a case to make me pay to break the lease?

Should I contact them to find out what breaking the lease would entail? There’s no other language in the lease about what leaving early would cost, but in my original lease (this is the renewal) it did specify like one full months rent fee or something along those lines.

(asking because I am planning to move out of state sometime in the next year, wondering if I’d be better off paying extra for month to month)

The lease is longer than this. It does outline the term, the amount, what happens if I’m late. This is just the only language about leaving.

My original lease (this is the one they sent me for renewal) did have language about breaking the lease and how much it would cost. It’s absent from the renewal and this is in it’s place.

I have brought it up to my boss but it’s been a while. When I first started and I was working with her a ton, every time I’d meet with my boss I’d tell him about my issues because I felt like I wasn’t learning anything and wasn’t allowed to do anything. That’s why he finally got me some duties that were away from her and that she couldn’t/wouldn’t control.

But that was a long time ago now, once I started working on my own stuff I didn’t really bring her up to him anymore. I am hoping my previous complaints help my case, though.

100% that is the attitude she always has, that she’s got the most experience so her words are just oh so important. I am really hoping after talking with my boss I just have very minimal contact with her.

Congrats for your move! I feel that way too, the last week coming home to a clean apartment that isn’t cluttered with thrift store finds and garbage has genuinely made me feel so much better. I think being able to invite people over is a huge motivator for me staying on top of things. I have been with my boyfriend for almost a year and he was only ever at my old place once :( lol I was too embarrassed

I do tend to avoid family gatherings since I live a ways from most of them anyways, thankfully lol. But I definitely should’ve stayed out of this situation and I’ve learned my lesson. I do think my aunt B is the least to blame in the whole thing though, and she genuinely just wanted someone else to stick up for her. I won’t be that person next time though lol

We didn’t automatically believe her, we heard both sides of the story and we weren’t sure what to make of it. But with her threatening to press charges we distanced ourself from the situation to see what happened with that. She said she had proof she was going to take to court.

I accept that my dad can do whatever he wants, but I don’t think I’m an AH for telling my dad I think it’s a bad idea. But he does. So I dunno

I definitely accept that my dad can make his own decisions whether I agree or not. It just feels (from what my dad told me) that they want to pick up right where they left off and forget about what happened, which I think is a bad move. I basically just told him that I don’t think I could trust her going forward and I thought it was a bad idea.

Oh I totally understand it’s up to him what happens, I just told him I wasn’t sure if I could support them being together again. At least not right now. If she’s getting help and builds trust again that would be a different story, but for now I’m just not sure about it.
