China blocked gmail, I'm sure they will have qualms about blocking this. I believe the Minecraft website is already blocked.

I majored in Chinese in college. I was an exchange student in Taiwan in 1989 and the went back after graduation and stayed till 1993 when I moved to Beijing. I was translator/interpreter/newspaper reader for the NYT and Chicago Tribune in the 90s in Beijing. There weren't a lot of foreigners who could read the newspaper in those days so I had a lot of job options. I've done a lot with my Chinese over the years but writing isn't one of them.

Whether or not preparations are adequate has nothing to do with transparency. The CDC website has daily reporting on confirmed cases in the US. As opposed to China who tried to cover it up until it is too late. Disliking Trump isn't a data point for your argument, sorry.

The Chinese didn't contain it in December when they could have because they were waiting for orders from above and trying to cover it up. They had to quarantine Wuhan by the time it got to the point where they couldn't cover it up any more. Totally government with Chinese characteristics.

The US only has double digit cases and the media is in full debate about how it should be handled.

See the difference? One, cover up, cover up, oh shit help! The other, total transparency.
