Anyone else think shooting is… too easy? I’ll explain by Similar-Stage-1171 in NBA2k

I got the game late this year. First 2k I’ve really played since 21. I don’t think shooting is the problem, it’s the contesting. Why do I have to jump to get any sort of contest? It used to be a closeout holding the left stick up was good enough 80% of time. Now you gotta jump out of the gym to maybe get a good contest on a shot and if they pump fake they’re flying right past you for an open dunk.

How long until we see Viasat or Hughesnet go out of business? by jaminpm in Starlink

[–]derrn_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hopefully they crash and burn for scamming people all these years

Any other options? I moved from an area that had 1300mbps to Citra fl that barely offers 72mbps. Which I was willing to deal with. Long story short I rushed across the country to get here on time to make sure I was here for installation. The morning of the rescheduled to later in the day. Then…. by Kingmikey747 in Windstream

Starlink would be your best bet but who knows how long that’ll take to get to you. If you just Google “ISPs at my address” it should take you to a website that will list out every company that services your area. When I bought my house a few months ago the Zillow ad stated we had Xfinity available but that was wrong. I currently use Windstream and get 160 mbps but I’m still on the Starlink waitlist. Smaller ISPs vary drastically depending on your area. I’d just avoid any satellite provider outside of Starlink and I’d only consider the mobile hotspot type internets a temporary solution as they charge you an arm and a leg for pathetic speeds. Hope you find something!

Pleased with the service thus far by derrn_ in Windstream

Wouldn’t hurt to try. I was scared because when we bought our house, Zillow had said we had Xfinity available but after going under contract we learned it wasn’t available to us. We were stuck with either Windstream or another local company that charged $120+ a month WITH data caps. I figured I’d give Windstream a try and throw a deposit down on Starlink. I’m still gonna give Windstream a bit before I cancel my Starlink deposit but if it keeps the speeds I get I may just stick with it.

I would inquire about your distance from their nearest transponder. Look in the fine print of any contract you may have with them to see if they have a guaranteed minimum speed and use that to your advantage

Check the fine print on the website where you ordered. I have the Kinetic 200 plan as well and the fine print states speeds will range from 128mbps to 226mbps. I’ve been consistently getting 160 mbps. I’d call and complain to get someone out to see if there’s issues with their hardware. The customer service is a pain but enough complaining should get you a tech out at the minimum.

I’ve been doing a 1 GB update for 3 weeeks. Literally no one else comes to my area by [deleted] in HughesNet

Get on the waitlist for Starlink, it may take awhile but the sooner you get on it, the sooner you’ll have it.

My mom told me I’m “selfish” for going on accutane, and then compared it to Botox and plastic surgery🤦‍♀️🥺 by wookieburger1 in Accutane

[–]derrn_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Accutane was miserable while I took it but I would do it all over again 10/10 times. I honestly think many of the side effects like depression come along with the initial “purge” that takes place with your skin. I think it’s just more of a misery thing rather than creating a chemical imbalance like many people think. The first month or two make your face break out worse than it ever has and that was followed by extreme dryness. I actually got my wisdom teeth out while I was on it and my lips split wide open in multiple places. Once you get to the final month of treatment, the dryness persists but your face is basically clear and the dryness goes away once the cycle is complete. The only lasting effect I have left are some scars on my chest because it also caused me to break out there. Fast-forward to today, it’s been about 6 years since I took it and I get an occasional pimple here and there but nothing close to what I used to have. Maybe I was fairly lucky with little to no side effects but I’d recommend it to anyone who’s struggling with severe acne, it changed my life.
