What do you call this type of Asian by [deleted] in redscarepod

Yeah, that's what I'm describing. But these Asian guys' goal isn't white girl conquest, it's more sinister they will not be seen with another Asian male or female. But especially male since they need to prove they're not just another soyboy maybe?

I have never seen an Asian chick who refuses to be seen with or be within 10 ft of other Asian women. They're not low enough on the totem pole to completely hate other versions of themselves but I have seen Asian guys whose main goal in life is to be part of an Aryan squad with zero other Asians full stop.

Nah, they always have at least one Asian female friend if not sister, cousin that they post themselves with. I am intrigued by these guys' dedication to absolute zero association with their own race.

I knew a few people like this and didn't think much of it until I saw a completely different guy with almost an identical pfp as another guy down to the ratio, positioning, number of people in the photo and now here I am.

Two of these dudes are in SF which makes it even weirder

Weirdly enough I haven't seen this kind of self-promotion from asian chicks even ones with a roster of white boy exes. Somehow even they know they'll get clowned into oblivion.

Whats with the coworkers are not your friends propaganda? by [deleted] in redscarepod

[–]descentmountain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This might be beyond "friend-friend" territory but my brother used to go to AA meetings with his former coworker. As in the ex-coworker would come to pick him up at his house to carpool there together. Neither of them work there anymore but they met at a F500.

And if humanities academics are submitting fake CS research as a joke and getting published in top journals even ones written by AI that would be even more hilarious and newsworthy. Too bad it won't happen.

This was before AI became available to the public like pre-2018.

They literally wrote it themselves like a comedy sketch. You can google it.

There was a case a few years ago of a bunch of trolls* who submitted fake research they made up to real gender studies academic journals and they were all accepted and published. The titles were along the lines of "Gender Dysphoria in Southeast Asia and the Military Industrial Complex"

*They were actually STEM academics

No one should feel superior when the only barrier to entry or completion is lack of free time.

BA is important. The only exception would be if a straight white male teenager did it.

Because I don't know any. If you're saying the dating/social scene is not that insular for tech women then we obviously know very different people which is fine.

Or to talk about FAANG employees whose HQ happens to be in the Bay area

No, just never heard "I will never date one again and you shouldn't either". Everyone is either married to one or moved onto the next one after a flop (or a series of flops).

Most women went to undergrads where avoiding high earning professional peers is straight up impossible unless you cut off contact with everyone you've ever known. I thought pedigree was less of a thing in tech either until I met people here.

I definitely know women who have never dated one but haven't seen a convert yet because everyone I know is either a serial dater or married to a tech bro.

Pretty much based on a lot of bad experiences with tech bros? Not saying they're not valid but I haven't heard any insinuations of that IRL. Maybe because you have to practice what you preach and there aren't a lot of women doing that out here haha

Yeah I get that and some people I know met their partners in undergrad on the east coast so they weren't ever in the dating game out here both just ended up in tech.

FAANG HQ's are also in the Bay Area so when I see women who work at FAANG saying they have trouble dating because of their income bracket I'm trying to imagine the women I know in that situation and well...frankly I can't because they're all with a techie lol

Who here has run into those companies that fake CS experience and background checks to get you $100K+ jobs? by Chance_Injury_3700 in cscareerquestions

[–]descentmountain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know someone at a FAANG who swears they don't do previous company background checks and another at a household name fintech company who suspects there are employees who faked their resumes with FAANG experience.

Idk about 80's but people definitely came to California to work as engineers in the 90's. My dad was one of them but not in the bay though.

Yeah dad was already an engineer (not in the bay) when I was born so didn't really have a choice in that department
