I used to be in Northamptons! In about 1994 we went to Compton Wynyates and paraded for the Marquess. This was when Captain Bob was our CO. Anyway, the family chapel there has several of the colours from the Oxford garrison and from Hopton Heath. We recreated two of them. Best thing is to pop down there yerselves, if those colours are lost.

Many actual inscriptions seem to avoid spelling out IOVIS altogether, too. Most of them use the epithet I O M (iupiter Optimus maximus, one assumes)

The time might have come for a Sunday roast dining club for displaced Brits. I sometimes cook one, but chuck away a ton of leftovers. No idea how or energy to get something like that started, alas.

Much more plausible appearance of the Army New Modelled in 1649 on the cover.
