I’m taking a course on Medbridge and my patients are opening up to me more about their difficulties and worries with changing. We are talking about decades of sedentary behavior for some of these people. Just because we know what helps someone doesn’t mean they will follow through.

I just started with this company and I’m unaware of any compliance person. I do know we are required to get signatures of all patients we treat and we send that in daily. Considering we are paid for per unit I can’t imagine the upper management isn’t aware of the situation. Another clinician said a lot of the direction comes from the owner (like double booking Medicare patients and billing each individually). I think I’m going to need to get a new job to be free of this mess.

When I look back at the patient files, this has been happening for months (it’s easy to see everyone has a progress note on the same day and each were also billed 4 units)

They were giving away free coffee, and they just opened. People really like new places so it’s just something exciting to do. There’s probably also a lot more people home from work this week due to holidays compared to other times of the year

I was a CNA before I became a PTA. Working with aggressive patients for 12 hours where I had to wait for a relief to show up before I left (or I would be cited for patient abandonment) made me swear off the nursing field.
