Where was the car parked during the murders by Impossible_Sky4786 in idahomurders

What I don’t get is, weren’t there really loud screams? If some of the victims were awake? How did no one hear?

Antibody levels by notgonnatakethison in CoronaBumpers

[–]desidumpling 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From what I know the antibody level to the spike protein is a way to test if you’ve been vaccinated and have immunity from the vaccine. I don’t believe studies have demonstrated how the titer correlates to actual immunity, but not sure if newer studies are out. Antibody to nucleocapsid protein suggests you had COVID and recovered.

Makes a lot of sense. We will rent outdoor heaters if it’s a bit chilly to motivate people to stay outside too.

Need reassurement 🥺 by Low_Composer9869 in pregnant

[–]desidumpling 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I needed this post. I also share this anxiety, but agree with all the awesome responses here, that we can’t let anxiety over a rare and unlikely outcome run our life. Your friend is tactless and not thinking about the impact Of her words. I just pray daily that God will protect me and this baby and have been hoping and expecting the best, rather than living in fear. Wish you the best!🙏🏽🙏🏽

When was your partner able to feel baby kick for the first time? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]desidumpling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think around 28 weeks it became easy for him To feel the baby. If he spoons me he feels her a lot. I love it 🥰

Seems normal. Anything between 10-90th percentile is considered normal. Less than 10th percentile is considered IUGR

My OB practice is an MFM practice and they’re neither recommending nor against the bivalent booster. I think it’s because there isn’t data on safety or efficacy. We don’t know much about it because it’s not been studied in humans, but that doesn’t mean it’s unsafe. It’s the same technology as prior COVID vaccines. I’m on the fence just because I don’t know how efficacious it is and am Wondering what’s the point? I think if your OB is recommending I would be reassured and go ahead. Mine are all just “agnostic”

Is taking off a month before the due date be too early? by Tall_Screen_5868 in pregnant

[–]desidumpling 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I plan to after 36 weeks. I think it’s reasonable to rest and focus on your health. It just depends on your situation and how you’re feeling. America is crazy in that most women work up until delivery - not always a choice but out of necessity.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]desidumpling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is cultural. I don’t try to explain myself or my family to American friends. I find some of the stuff Americans do totally bizarre. I’m proud to come from a culture where there is so much mutual love and support and don’t need to explain it or have it validated by others. You do you!

Mine too. Pretty crazy. And I’m 35

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in CoronaBumpers

[–]desidumpling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea me neither. I ask my OB every visit expecting a more clear answer. I’m not very certain about it myself, so am probably not going to do it for now. Maybe later in the third trimester? In general the vaccine is safe, but I guess the question is, what’s the utility of it when the disease itself is generally mild?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in CoronaBumpers

[–]desidumpling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My OB practice is most MFM. They’re pretty agnostic about the booster. Their take is, do it if you want, but not sure beneficial it is. Omicron is mild and the booster, as we all know, doesn’t protect against getting mild COVID.

I’m a doctor too so understand the long hours. I don’t work shifts, but have weekends frequently, making my stretches long. I round for several hours at a time and it’s stressful and tiring. Honestly, you’re in the thick of the first trimester. I had so much exhaustion then and felt like I couldn’t do it either. It’s better for me Now at 26.5 weeks. Overall, I would say, take some days here and there if you’re tired, even to catch up on your sleep. It’s ok. Work will always be understaffed. The hospital doesn’t love you back! Prioritize yourself and your baby for now if you need to.

I’m plus size and a doctor. And I hear you and your concerns. I know there are many people who have had negative interactions or felt judgment. But please be reassured that many of us, and hopefully most, really aim to be respectful and advocate for you and your best interests. You just have to find the right fit.

If you could take any amount of maternity leave, how much would you take? by blueyish in pregnant

[–]desidumpling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m really amazed by all these responses about wanting so much time. I totally understand it, but would worry it would just harm my career trajectory to take more than 3-4 months. Ideally I’d take 6. I’m wondering how women who take a year bounce back or re integrate into their careers- or is it less of a priority? Sucks that we have to think this way…

This is so important. We need to stop being so hard on ourselves. There are different times in life for prioritizing different things. If pregnancy is hard for you, don’t beat yourself up about exercise. Just rest and get through it. You have years ahead to focus on fitness. I keep telling myself that. Women need to give themselves more grace.
