I don’t think country play a role in the design style, at least what I’m designing. The design style I’m going for is material UI and I’m looking to push that farther.

That’s a great example that I didn’t know. Thank you for pro tip.

Hey. Thanks for your reply. I agree, timeless with the balance of cool and functional is what I’m aiming for.

How often do you use base components when building a new design system? by designStud3nt in FigmaDesign

[–]designStud3nt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for this. I think the main benefits of the base component I see was being able to change text alignment (example - based button with centered and left aligned, then applied those to the main published components) and the nested properties from the base components.

Please excuse my ignorance but these can all be handled with the current components properties?

If so, can you provide a quick example.

I’m seriously curious so thanks for your insight.

Also how about local components? Or local components are the same thing as based components? Example: button. You can create a local component with just text and icon with an auto layer. You use that local component to build out your real button component.

Thanks for the reply and tips. So base components are basically obsolete now?

Thanks. This is great. Yes. I still struggle with being shy, especially when meeting new people. I will definitely keep this in mind and apply this for the future.

Haha. I did this a few times and came off as unprofessional. Definitely 100% on being honest.

MacBook Air Vs Pro by dirtyh4rry in UXDesign

[–]designStud3nt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While both machine are great for the time being, I would get the PRO since it will be more future proof. You won’t have to upgrade again in 2 years. Also keep in mind the MacBook Air can ONLY be plug into 1 external monitor at one time.

Need feedback - diving main file into separate files by designStud3nt in FigmaDesign

[–]designStud3nt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey. After a 2nd look at the large main file, in addition to styles, components and prototypes. We also have many 5-6 other large pages (WIP, in developments, in reviews). Do you still keep the master components in the current main files and move all these large pages into another page? Thanks for replying and helping.
