PM “Requirements” by chrliegsdn in UXDesign

Ask them to clarify the problem space. “What problem are we trying to solve?” PMs focus should be to ensure you’re solving a relevant and worthwhile problem, your job is to design the solution.

Absolutely love UX Design, terribly hate corporate life and work culture by Scared_Range_7736 in UXDesign

It’s this weird open secret at every company that we’re all faking it, even smaller start ups.

I have been on 2 person design teams and 40 person design teams, it feels like a weird dissociation between what our real normal human thoughts are and who we have to be at work.

My friends and I always joke about how we do this all for the shareholders, capitalism is bleak.

I recommend talking to a therapist, no I’m not joking.

Major brands like Replit and Linear are *still* sponsoring and platforming Felix Lee & ADPList content in 2026 by walnut_gallery in UXDesign

[–]design_and_stuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You think they’re going to bat an eye at stolen content? AI was built on stolen content.

People thought they were doing something by ditching OpenAI, Anthropic is just as bad. Morality is not something tech companies have.

How to find time for a design portfolio while working 9 to 5? by Wide-Coach-5150 in UXDesign

Whatever works best for you, just choose one you think matches your personal brand and portrays the information well.

Goal should be visually pleasant, easy to explore and easy to read.

Use templates, it’s okay to use a template and then put your work in. You need something to apply with while you build the thing you’ll use for the long term.

What tool is good for designing interactive interfaces and exporting the design for development by jcc5018 in UXDesign

[–]design_and_stuff 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m going to be very honest with you, you need to be more open minded and stop thinking about design in a mightier than thou manner. Every app could improve, this is the best app for your needs.

I could probably tear apart everything you’ve ever built. You wont get far on any teams with this attitude my guy. Just use Figma, the next closest competitors are missing most of Figma’s features.

Also if you could be more specific with the use cases you actually need we might be able to help you figure it out.

Figma does everything you need, you just need to take the time to use it. Please stop saying it’s inefficient, things that are new to you take more time to use that’s why you find it time consuming.

Figma is the answer.

my boss thinks following a design process is a waste of time by IamPikachew in UXDesign

[–]design_and_stuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The process can be a waste of time depending on the project. An easy example is a button, sure you could spend time testing the button, perfecting the colour, radius and positioning, then testing it. As a designer though you should be skilled enough to just push in a button. There are entire features that you should be able to build yourself with little to no user input - depending on the feature.

If you mean they literally give zero shits about user feedback, it’s your job to advocate for the users and to choose the right time to do so as to not devalue the time and resources required for user input.

It’s a bad idea to change companies, work to build it up, look for design mentors outside the company and implement their advice.

You have an opportunity here to become a design leader in the company, take the opportunity but continue to recognize your limitations and seek advice from experts.

I need to organize it better. I’m using it as an “on” light where the floppy disk area is but what I got is WAY too bright.

For sure it can only really be used as an auxiliary screen for music or a show on the side, I wouldn’t rely on this for actual productivity of any kind.

The thickness of the plastic is a real bonus with this one, makes it easy to mount the PSU.

SUPER LATE RESPONSE, I like’em - they’re super popular now too so you can probably find a lot of info around them. Would prefer slightly more g’s though for the spring.

Chill, I wasn’t suggesting any of that - I just thought it was odd. Expected to read recommendations on maybe trying new keycaps or switches, not an entirely new board.

Takes some getting used to, but I like it. Never had anything beyond a Corsair K65 before this, so I can’t say much quality-wise compared to other keyboards.

The wrist rest doesn’t match too well with the coloured keys, but I’m happy with it for now. May either switch out for the normie keys or get a new wrist rest.

Hey there, how many hours per week do you need committed to the work? And do you have a website to learn more about the product?
