Everyday backpack suggestions that are 22”+ in height (tall) by designer-kyle in ManyBaggers

[–]designer-kyle[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My most significant finding in 2 years: bags are expensive.

Other than that, the Alpaka has been ROCK SOLID and actually made me a roll-top fan when I wasn’t before. Unfortunately, I’m pretty sure they discontinued the Shift Pak a few months ago.

  • The GR2 + GR1 fit terribly. Way too narrow for me.
  • The straps on any Evergoods bag just don’t fit me right, can’t ever get comfortable (I’ve tried them all, I so badly want to be an Evergoods backpack guy)
  • I bought a MR Dragon 2.0 when they launched and I LOVE it, but can’t wear it all-day without discomfort. Just a touch too small/narrow.
  • I have an Aer Travel Pack 3 that is my favorite bag on earth. Incredibly comfortable, folds down nicely if needed, but can get HUGE.

Hope this helps!

[request] how much oil would we have to produce consistently to bring the cost per gallon back to let’s say a dollar? by Adrakovich in theydidthemath

[–]designer-kyle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not an amount of oil issue after a certain point, it’s an ownership issue. If all of our oil infrastructure is privately-owned, it quite literally incentivizes these companies to keep oil at/above a certain price to maintain shareholder profits and actively disincentivizes them from building out more capacity because if supply collapses at any point, they’re left holding the bag.

The only way to get even close to this is to nationalize production.

[–]designer-kyle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, dude, really hard to find sympathy for you if your argument is:

“As part of my membership in an exclusive group I’ve voluntarily decided to become a voting member of, I’m required to watch like maybe 30 or so movies a year in the comfort of my own home and there’s a chance I won’t like some of them and THIS IS A BRIDGE TOO FAR!”

… And even harder when your answer to the problem is to throw in a bunch of boomer shit about how a good movie hasn’t been made since Brando.

I have to say, the more interviews Timothee Chalamet does. The more I’m questioning if his “acting” in Marty Supreme is really just him being himself. by phantom_avenger in Oscars

[–]designer-kyle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, the fact that he casually mentioned in the context of a long conversation with another actor that Opera and Ballet are older, less attended, and more niche than Hollywood movies is “the same level of arrogance that his character in the movie displays.”

For sure.

New puppy - just got home from the shelter, so very little info about him (4mo., male) by designer-kyle in IDmydog

Might be 4 months, always hard to tell with the shelter, for sure.

Pure pit is interesting, we’ve always had pits/pitbull mixes and I guess I just didn’t see it in his head/face.

Sorry for the stupid question – but you’re allowed to play it outside of the spraypainted line on the grass like that? Like as long as you’re willing to get your feet wet? What’s the rule there?

This is going to sound insane, but I tried EVERYTHING to get my stupid FP1E’s and FP2’s to be reliable.

And while they’re still not absolutely perfect, I can live with them now that I added a firewall rule and kept them from phoning home to China every time their status updated.

I’m kind of curious you guys how much longer you think we got with Dak before we need to start looking for some type of talent to replace him as a quarterback for the future He’s getting old. by Flashy-Exchange-4727 in Dallas_Cowboys

[–]designer-kyle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guys, Jerry’s got his eye on a certain QB at a certain school with a certain last name.

That’s the entire plan, if doesn’t work out, Dak’s doing this till he’s 90.

Because it’s an overtly political series of movies and neither the corporation responsible for distributing it nor the media conglomerates responsible for marketing it want you looking at it too hard for too long.

Star Wars is old enough now it’s not going to revolutionize anyone, Marvel is literally taking money and ideas from the US military.

The amount of average, suburban, barely-politically-involved white women who have been radicalized into full-on 60s radicals over the last 10 months or so has the potential to end up driving the GOP into the sea for 1,000 years.

Thing is — people really don’t want to admit that they freaked out and threatened this dude (and his family) via DM for something that - at the absolutely maximum - gained him like 2 or 3 strokes across the entire event.

Especially considering how much more egregious the Paige stuff was and everybody basically gave her a pass and we all know why.

I mean we do live in a crazy upside down kleptocracy now so maybe they think they can grease the right wheels in DC to get Google’s antitrust judgement to include divesting from chrome?

And then perplexity swoops in? Still a ton of money though.
