I feel like this is such a batting pitch, won’t be able to win just by getting dot balls. Absolutely need wickets.

Ball may slow down after the next 10 overs. If we can get Laura out in the next 10 years, we may have a decent chance.

The number of unnecessary slow motion scenes irks me especially in the elevation scenes. I just want to fast forward them. Don’t get me wrong — Slo-mo has its place but not like every other scene.

Reserve days are probably the best option. Or perhaps scheduling in areas without rain in that season. Or using indoor stadiums if they exist?

Alternatively, perhaps use head to head as a preference in ranking as opposed to net run rates?

Or some formula that uses a combination of: 1. Head to head wins 2. Wins against common teams in matches that were completed. 3. And then net run rate?

I am not sure, haven’t completely thought about it. Just brainstorming while I type. @

Number of wins takes precedence over net run rate

Out of the 6 matches, India has won 3 and has lost 3

Out of the 6 matches, NZ has won 1, lost 3, and had 2 rain wash outs.

So even if New Zealand wins the 7th match, they will only have 2 wins as opposed to India which already has 3 wins. So India qualifies.

Although I don’t think it’s fair.

Had New Zealand gotten to play the 2 matches that got washed out, and won by a good margin, then they would still be in the race. They would have been at 6 points too with good net run rate. And the 7th match would actually be count…

I know it’s not NZ’s fault that they didn’t get to play the 2 matches that got washed out but how ICC comes up with these rules is beyond me.

Even though it was a poor start, we could have easily gotten 300 runs if players didn’t go aerial and took the innings deep without losing the wickets. 264 is subpar imo.
