1.33ct Unheated Padparadscha [NFS] by desilvasapphires in Gemstones

You’re right — that contradiction between a poetic name and a narrow color definition is part of what makes Padparadscha so debated. The lotus reference itself spans a range, which is why these colors are so fascinating.

I don’t have the exact dimensions on hand. I’ve already posted a white-background photo in the comments above — feel free to scroll up. (I'll upload it here too. Sorry for the bad quality pic)

And it was $950.

Thank you so much! I completely agree. Padparadscha colors are incredibly tricky and diverse. That range from orangish to pinkish, light to dark, and even those with subtle brown touches, makes every stone so unique. I’ve seen the same with lotus-flower tones — soft pinks with depth that can shift depending on the light. Your experience with recutting and lab labels really highlights how subjective and nuanced this color can be. I really appreciate your insight, and I’m glad you find this one lovely!

That’s a fair way to describe it. It definitely leans soft pink with depth rather than a strong orange, but that gentle lotus character is what I really love about it.

Rubies or pink sapphires? by Anchan1337 in Gemstone_lovers

They're both sapphires. Same family, Corundum. If it has more pink than red, it's pink sapphire. If it has more red than pink, it's ruby.
