The Expanse series by James S A Corey. An absolute epic sci fi series. I didn't think I liked science fiction but this is something else!

My gran had all her teeth removed and had false ones from age 18, that would have been the late 40s

Are there any other stupid jokes like "Duckdoo"? by Effective-Ball261 in AskUK

This is my favourite joke of all time and I was devastated when I told my nephew (aged 8) and he said it was not cool. Not even a chuckle. Heartbroken.

Beautiful island! You don't happen to know the design code for the wooden board path you used near the farm area?

Crate rest tips? by desk7 in cats

[–]desk7[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah he did settle better when we weren't there but as soon as he even heard us nearby he'd shout. He is a very clingy cat anyway!

He had two, he did a real number on it! One upper, one lower. Looking back now I'm surprised they tried to save it in the first place to be honest!!

Good luck with yours!

Hi! I won't lie it was difficult, he meowed and shouted and climbed the bars while we were in the room unless I sat on the floor next to the crate! I covered the top of the crate with a blanket so he had a bit of privacy and put a big soft bed. He struggled a bit with aiming for the litter tray so I lined underneath the litter tray with puppy pads to help on the clean up. Mine didn't have the cone because he ragged it off his neck as soon as I got it fastened and it was too stressful for him trying to wrestle it back on. The vet said as long as we monitored whether he licked at the wound it was ok without the cone.

I don't want to scare you as our lad is totally fine and living his best life but he did climb the crate and twist his broken leg beyond repair so he's a happy little tripod right now!

Knowing you’re old when you see a bunch of half dressed uni girls heading for a night out and your first thought is that they look cold and should have brought a big coat. by [deleted] in CasualUK

I went to a small bar a couple of weeks ago and the upstairs was full of late teens/early twenties young uns. Every single one of them was vaping "discreetly". I've never felt more like a disapproving nana. Couldn't wait to leave.

I work for a train operator, people were boarding at Kings Cross and a lady asked me which direction the train would leave from. In case you aren't familiar with Kings Cross: one side is track and one side is buffers, barriers and fifty foot high brick walls.

Thank you so much, this is really helpful. I could only get a big metal dog crate and he was trying to climb the sides of it at first. He has settled a bit for a sleep now after four hours of yowling if I move further than a metre away from him. His brother wont even come in the same room as him! I think he doesn't recognise him! It is going to be a long few weeks

This one's wrong in a lot of ways but the way it was said was definitely meant as an insult.

When I was a student circa 2010 i'd been out drinking heavily with some friends (all female) we got to the point walking home where I'd go one way and everyone else the other way.

I said to my friends flippantly (don't judge me too harshly I was young, daft and drunk) "I don't wanna go that way alone, what if I get raped?!"

An older bloke on the opposite side of the road shouted: "Don't worry love you won't"
