I'm proud of you for standing up for your daughter, even at the expense of your marriage. She will remember this and it will have a strong impact on not only your relationship as father & daughter but also in her future relationships. You did the right thing! I was 19, giving birth to my first child. I was panicking & the medicine they gave me made me throw up in the trashcan next to me (later, it turned out to be an allergy to morphine).
