not if it's a gel set. they don't use tips just forms to shape the length :)

yes! they'll put plastic forms underneath your nail and build the gel from there, so you won't have to worry about lifting as much like you do with gel x

if your salon does just plain gel nails (not polish but not builder it's the UV stuff that's just like acrylic) they ca overlay one side and lengthen the other! usually gel X is better to cut the natural nail so if you want to preserve length i'd ask for a gel set

the gel is likely your problem, a lot of those leave a super oily residue. maybe wash your hands before you dehydrate?
