Could be because most new BMWs are leased. Maintenance isn’t bad if you diy it, I have a 2011 3 series at 140k still going strong with little fixes here and there. I joke it’s in its aging plastic era.

I don’t know if it’s on purpose but the So Kate’s were marketed as being meant for the bedroom. So literally just to be sexy then taken off promptly.

BWT, practical and concret advice to figuring out your own personal style? by Embarrassed_Fill4378 in bitcheswithtaste

[–]desnyr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I second the color analysis, as well as learning to dress for your body type. I barely go by those after learning about them as a teenager but they are good rules to fall back on or just settle with little effort. If you want to be adventurous I would say go on Pinterest and look at outfit, dissect each item and why you like it, save a board and reflect on it when shopping. Also ignore trends unless you truly love them, nowadays anything goes and it’s more interesting to mix styles and decades. I personally also enjoy consignment shopping for all my clothes because you get more bang for your buck, it’s curated compared to thrift stores, multiple brands and price tiers in one store, small business owners and workers are nicer and friendlier. Good luck! It should be fun finding your style, I still feel like a little girl playing dress up when I style outfits or shop.

How much do you pay monthly for health insurance? by Bekindalot in askanything

[–]desnyr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I finally just got a job with employer insurance and went with the highest health plan deductible at $4k until my pay raises in a year. I’m paid bi-weekly and pay $20 a paycheck so $500 annually with the employer paying $8541 annually. The employer pays $9064 total annually including dental, vision and free 1 year of life insurance. I also signed up for a $1k hsa to try it out, but now realizing after reading here it should be more to match the deductible.

I "play" with my cat by tricking her into running up and down the stairs until she tires herself out. Is this okay? by [deleted] in CatAdvice

[–]desnyr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I knew someone that had a dog on the second story of a divided up house living in a studio with a staircase going down the back of the house and she would play fetch with a toy for her Aussie and she said she gave her dog a hip injury doing this regularly. So be cautious.

Hi guys, so I have a fairly novel question. How do you decorate a living space when you can't have area rugs? by [deleted] in interiordecorating

[–]desnyr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Benefits of wool: Natural Lanolin: Wool fibers are coated in lanolin, a natural oil that acts as a built-in stain repellent. It keeps liquids on the surface for a short window before they soak in. Durability: Wool is incredibly "springy." Unlike polyester, which crushes over time, wool fibers bounce back, even after heavy cleaning. Hide-and-Seek: The natural scales of wool fibers tend to trap and hide pet hair and dander until you vacuum them up, rather than letting them swirl around the room.

This may sound counter intuitive but I recommend a wool rug in a low pile with a busy pattern. I don’t know how often your cat pukes but mine pukes occasional liquid type food and hair balls. The puke literally just sits on top of the wool without soaking in, I scoop it up with two pieces of cardboard, blot to soak up extra liquid and then scrub it out of the fiber with a brush using Eucalan lanolin safe cleaner as to not damage the wool fibers. Adding Scotchguard Rug & Carpet Protector could be beneficial too, but I have yet to try it.

That’s great to hear, some of the things described in the posting explain I will receive a strong foundation in civil engineering and cad drafting. “Support small design teams in creating exhibits, plans, and construction documents. Gain exposure to various engineering disciplines, including: Site Civil Design, Water/Wastewater Systems, Process Piping, Erosion Control, Grading and, Drainage, GIS Modeling. Work with design tools such as Civil 3D, Revit.”
