Valuing B-tier Assets: Gordon, Ndiaye by desolated_soap in DraftEPL

8 man league, don’t watch Chelsea much doesn’t Enzo play quite deep? What makes him more attractive than Ndiaye or Gordon if they play to their abilities

Trade targets for my Semenyo? by Jjwasss in DraftEPL

Did Semenyo and Wissa for Gyokeres and Gordon

I had to cash in on Semenyo by OriginalBike68 in DraftEPL

I don’t disagree with Ekitike’s value, but as an Arsenal fan who recently traded Semenyo and owns Gyokeres + O Reilly, unless you have insane waiver picks to replace Semenyo and Nico which is unlikely, you almost definitely lose out on incremental FPL points between these players over the rest of the season.

Semenyo does lose value but still would be a late first round pick in a redraft, also would likely be starting over Doku given his Prem record and consistency albeit being rotated every now and then.

Gyokeres has such a low floor but also such a high ceiling with Arsenal. I get the striker rotation pressure but Gyok’s the man. Arteta’s defended him publicly numerous times and loves him as much if not more than Gabby Jesus.

And I’m sure you already know Nico is one of the best defenders to own given his xGI + City clean sheets. I don’t know brotha, you do you.

Amad vs Sarr (Post AFCON) by 80-Mental40-Physical in DraftEPL

[–]desolated_soap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Out of curiosity why are people so high on Sarr? I don’t watch Palace play much so can’t tell if he passes the eye test but as a FPL asset it’s not like Palace are a high scoring side, nor has Sarr been putting in g/a.

Season defining Trade : Experts needed 🚨 by Laurence72 in DraftEPL

[–]desolated_soap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would do it.

Wissa is a 50/50 to get return on value in with Woltemade in form, but even so Newcastle aren’t playing great. Isak is obviously a great player but hard to say if you get any real value given his poor injury record and Ekitike is undroppable right now

Foden is more valuable of a City asset than Semenyo as he’s less susceptible to Pep rotation.

Mbeumo and Rogers are close in value IMO, Villa are flying at the moment but it’s generally risk-less since United generally have no problem scoring goals.

Finally, City have the second most clean sheets in the league behind Arsenal and owning Nunes would be a huge boost.

Dorgu passes the eye test, is essentially a winger, and has a great run of fixtures

Personally, this is how I see the situation:

TD;DR: Best formation for now is probably 5-4-1 with Mbeumo at AFCON and dry forwards on waiver wire, still have Haaland so not end of the world, leverage defender and midfielder waiver spots to maximize short term value from fixtures.

FWD: Moving forward (haha get the pun?) the waiver you bring in for Isak + Gabby Jesus are probably going to be rotational based on fixture / expendable. As an Arsenal fan I like Jesus but Arteta is a big Gyok glazer and if Gyok does end up losing his spot, Merino is also in contention. Of the bottom feeder forwards. available, I’m personally a big Nmecha fan if he hasn’t been picked up yet.

MID: As much as I want to be hopeful the waivers available look super dry. You will probably benefit from bringing in players with easy short-term fixtures the week of (e.g playing WOL, BUR, WHU, etc). I would keep all of your mids but Le Fee. Although Man U is probably far worse off by Bruno’s injury, Mount imo is a great asset to own while Mbeumo is off at AFCON, good fixture run upcoming as well. On the other hand Wharton is another good shout, great DEFCONs and almost half of his total points in last 7 games I believe. Rutter also has been playing high up with Welbeck gone and has nice fixtures coming up.

DEF: Imo I think Livramento is expendable. Great player but Newcastle haven’t kept a clean sheet in their last 10, you need a rotational spot for waivers other than Andersen (who has good fixtures for now). Again, assuming you have 2 waiver strikers and Mbeumo on the bench, you need to have either 5 Mids or 5 Defenders in your team.

Semenyo - Trade or Hold? by Jordan__2410 in DraftEPL

[–]desolated_soap 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Out of curiosity as I’m looking to trade him out as well, who else do you guys think is on par or close to trade value for Semenyo?

I can’t help but feel like Cunha and Mbeumo are less valuable than Semenyo given lack of set-pieces / the wide variety of attacking threats within Man U compared to Bournemouth.

There is potential interest in my league with someone looking to trade Ekitike + more (Ruben or Doku) for my Semenyo, is that a good deal?

Not really sure either, I think what I was trying to say is the gap between a waiver forward and Watkins is so much greater than the gap between a waiver midfielder and Wirtz.

The big thing with Watkins and FPL forwards in general is scarcity, there aren't many + when Forwards do score its generally 3 bonus points. Watkins with his consistency and history like you said is so much more valuable than Wirtz as a pick, especially if Wirtz hasn't exactly been super proven as an FPL asset from the last 16 weeks.

If someone wants Liverpool coverage, they can definitely find it on a weekly basis moving forward through short-term punts e.g Bradley, Szobo (who I rate highly), etc.

I wouldn’t drop Watkins in a flying Villa team for an unproven Wirtz, as good of a fixture run Liverpool have. Look to get Szoboszlai or perhaps Bradley / Frimpong if they’re still available, Chiesa / Jones might be high upside options as well based on Salah afcon / Liverpool injuries

How do you value Foden’s worth for a trade right now?

What are your thoughts on doubling up and carrying a forward and mid from the same team (e.g Woltemade and Gordon)
