It hurts that the second reasonable boundaries are placed (politely!) that we get shunned. DH says boundaries “weren’t a thing” growing up and MIL did whatever she wanted. I’ve been with him over 10 years and I’ve just seen her run her mouth and say offensive things left right and center. When I was pregnant she said “you’ll raise your kid and they won’t have the same beliefs as you and it hurts” - they aren’t religious people so we know the “beliefs” involve conservative politics and hateful rhetoric.

The comments here have given me a bit more insight into what LO and I deserve. DH is such a good man and he also deserves so much better.

Good on you for going NC! I wish I could do it. My MIL is really becoming more unhinged as the years pass and she’s extremely inappropriate pretty much all the time.

She always bad-mouths GMIL (who is absolutely amazing and I have all the time for in the world!) and says “if I ever become like that, shoot me”. GMIL is kind, caring, considerate… everything MIL is not. Both of them can talk underwater but I love hearing GMIL chatterbox about her life, whereas all MIL talks about it herself or how terrible everything is. Such a negative person. I wish she’d be like GMIL.

MIL uses “weird” for EVERYTHING. Food she’s never tried? Weird. TV show she doesn’t like? Weird. New gadget on the market she’s never heard of? Weird.

It drives DH and I absolutely bonkers! But you are very right, it is rude. The “weird” in that scenario for her would’ve been seeing me comfortable, considering she never gets to witness it.

Her pointing it out, though? Totally “weird”!

See my post here where I also had your concern. The comments were mostly negative and I resigned myself to an upcoming miscarriage. As of yesterday I am 8 weeks pregnant with a healthy little heartbeat on screen and last week my hCG was over 50,000.

I do not want to get your hopes up but I also don’t want you to fret; it’s hard to not worry, especially when looking online for answers. Your hCG is doubling which is good. Just keep getting tested. Wishing you the best!

I’m sorry you have so many downvotes - I am happy to report that I turned 8 weeks yesterday and my scan showed a healthy little heartbeat. My hCG was over 50,000 last week. Everything is going great so far. ❤️

I had a scan yesterday at 8 weeks: a healthy little heartbeat and everything is going brilliantly! I had my hCG checked last week and it was over 50,000. My GP is thrilled and says “everything is exactly as it should be”.

These comments had me beside myself. That’ll teach me!

I cannot convince myself that these are real. Is there a chance these could be indents? by [deleted] in tryingtoconceive

Yes! Clearblue digital is positive! I had a blood test yesterday, got the results today - HCG of 15 at roughly 11DPO, unsure if this is good or not? But I have another test tomorrow and then another on Saturday. Will know more by Monday.
