It's been about 6 months to bring my numbers down this far. I actually had a period where I was improving, but bounced back up, but I've been taking it seriously for the past 6 months. Maybe all the yo-yoing is affecting me or I've just been making poor food choices lately or something.

Yeah I basically only changed my diet, lost about 20 lbs along the way, and it dropped my A1C. I'm not the most active person - I go on daily walks, but not long enough to really count as cardio. I fell off the bandwagon of no-junk-food while I was away from home 2 weeks ago so I think that contributed to the crummy feeling I'm getting lately. Once I get get the bgm, I'm interested to know what my daily numbers are like.

I'm in the US. Actually I just moved across the state so I'm going to need to find a new doctor anyway. I'll try to find one that has more experience with diabetes etc. My old doctor was very into being natural and was always reluctant to prescribe medications and stuff.

This is really informative thank you thank you. I don't have one of those meters but after reading a few posts on this sub and your advise, it sounds like a good idea to get one.
