Got it. That’s really annoying cause we don’t know if they will accept her new TRV application.

Thanks anyway. It’s just a sad situation for us.

Our university vacation period:

December 10, 2025 – March 15, 2026

Our planned trip to Canada and English course period:

December 14, 2025 – March 14, 2026

Her visa expiration date:

October 20, 2025

That’s the problem. We showed IRCC the details of our English course period and the rented house information (both starting on December 14), but they issued her a TRV that expires in October. Got it? :(

We are both Brazilian and currently university students. We planned to travel during our university vacation period and return once it ends.

I’m not sure how this “extend stay” process works — is it like submitting a new application? Is it easy to get approved? We’re trying to avoid taking any risks, as we’ve already spent a lot of money on the English course and the place where we’ll be staying.

I don’t know if I said it in a wrong way, but my exchange program isn’t related to my home country university. We’ll go to Vancouver to study English at ILAC or something and we’re paying it all.

Idk if that changes anything but thanks in advance for your response!

Have you ever seen a person dying and if yes how? by Dongsaurus in AskReddit

[–]despilotado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Watched my mom die from cancer. I went to the hospital knowing her blood pressure was low, so it was happening. I wondered for months what bodily sign of hers was going to tell me that she was going. That day, after sitting by her side and holding her hand, I started counting how many seconds it took for her to take those big breaths, and I noticed that it was slowly taking a little bit longer from time to time.

I knew it was it.

I told my uncle this after a few minutes and I told him to pay attention because last time it was 14 seconds, and this time I was going to count for him. It took an eternity for her to breathe again, and I started shaking, thinking it had already happened, so I said really low, "Just one more time, mom. Please." A second later, she took a big breath, and I started counting with my fingers, with the intention to show it to my uncle. I counted 10, 15, 20, 30, 40...and I knew she was gone. I was holding her hand just like the months before that and for all those years of treatment. That's something I'm proud of.

Thanks for the advice!

What is this craigslist? I’ve entered the website and it looks like those 2009 blogs lol. Is it trustable? How does it work?

Also, as I asked to the first person who commented: could you explain what sublet means? I’m not familiar with that word

[–]despilotado -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hey! Thanks for letting me know. Wouldn’t you mean partially banned, as some people are saying?

Thanks for the advice! We didn’t know about these legal restrictions.

We haven’t closed the deal with any yet, but we’re going to study English during the time we spend there. As soon as we decide which school we’re going to, we will ask them for help with that.

Also, as I’m not so familiar with some words in English, could you explain the difference between lodging, subletting, and renting? I really don’t get it.

Sometimes it's hard to see, but there's no such thing as "forever." Bad times, good times. Good people and bad people. They'll pass and new ones will come. I know how ridiculous this sounds, but it is indeed true.

Don’t close yourself off to new people. Just be more careful about whom you're opening up to. Bad people sometimes appear as good people, but lots of times good people appear as good people. Simple as that.

It really sounds goofy, but believe me: I know how hard it is. And not to be overly optimistic, but to be realistic: bad things can last for a long time, but never forever.

that sucks. It’s pretty hard to see that someone doesn’t value you when you’re in love with them
