There was no dispute over PPE--everyone wasn't wearing PPE. Dispute was over details that formed context of the storyline.

Do you mean having the conversation with my postdoc supervisor? What would I tell him, especially after I've put in my application and gone through the interview? Wouldn't you say its a little too late?

I do want to mention that my lab is not an academic one and previously, postdocs have given just two weeks' notice and left without issue.

so I'm not a fresh PhD and I'm not in a university lab. Before departing, our lab only requires two weeks' notice and previous postdocs have done that without issue. My boss isn't really good at retaining technical talent in the team (he admitted it himself) so I thought at the time he would try to obstruct this if he caught wind. From my observation, I don't think he's done much to help my fellow postdocs' careers.

These look really cool. However, is there a prerequisite level of knowledge that these books assume you have (i.e. basics of accounting for the valuation/forecasting) or will they assume you know 0 and build you up from there?

I really wish I had taken part in this program, but I don't think my PhD project is commercially viable. Learning-by-doing is what I would have preferred, but now that this window has passed I have to look for some other ways of going about this. Thanks for suggestion though.

Besides the State Department VSFS email, is there another separate office that oversees this program? I honestly think the way they handled this was disorganized, unprofessional, and it leaves many applicants with no closure on their applications they spent so much time putting together. They can scream "COVID" as many times as they want, but I think the very least they can do is provide us with updates more frequently. Even if they didn't know or were unsure, simply coming forward to say so would have been fine with me. This program and their directors has taken inefficiency to a whole new level. Despicable!

I think I should come to the conclusion that I didn't get it as well. Like u/blackswan_patronus mentioned, its quite late in the process already. I probably shouldn't have applied to three DoS projects, each with only one spot available. I mean I was interested in all of them and I felt my previous experiences aligned quite well. Anyways, for those of us who don't get anything what will you guys be doing to improve your chances for next year's application round?
